Anterrabae both Long Island Hardcore/Metalcore circa early '00s. IIRC their vocalist (S&HA's) is brothers with Brandon from The Movielife
I can only answer for myself. As far I'm concerned, when I think of the LI scene, those are the main five.
I was just giving you a hard time man. Tidal Is my favorite TBS record. I really like their approach to everything these days. Oh and they're selling pillowcases in their merch store now, so if that doesn't put them at the top idk what will.
your typical 4 chord bar-band punk rock in acoustic, folky sing-a-long form. they are really good, just not a good representation of that location's scene.
I mean.... within the wheelhouse mentioned thus far As Tall As Lions others? Jeff Rosenstock (and all his bands), From Autumn To Ashes, EPMD, De La Soul, Public Enemy, Leaders Of The New School. This Is Hell, The Bomb Squad (production crew), Vanilla Fudge, Blue Oyster Cult, etc. Mariah Carey is from here but shes not technically a band, hence why I didn't include solo rappers like Lil Peep, Rakim, RA The Rugged Man, Aesop Rock, Roc Marciano, Keith Murray etc. Answer is Glassjaw though.
I can't die till Long Island music, especially Hip Hop and Emo is respected separately from just throwing the "New York" label on it. Citidiots act like the "Only real NY" is the city, so they can have the city. And we'll win any music war you wanna wage. Fuck the city, Long Island always had it's own lil spin on things.
