The downtown was just so vibrant. It made me think that that's what the downtown of my city could be. Mine is just like 90% bars, because Wisconsin haha.
Ours used to be the same way, just bars and restaurants, a couple of boutiques- nothing fancy. Didn't really look that nice either. Then about 15 or so years ago, they added the bridge to the Falls Park and spruced up Main Street- basically renovated it. From there more stuff kept getting added and it became this hidden gem. Past few years it's caught the attention of blogs and magazines so the growth is going at an even faster rate so it's not so hidden anymore. I was born and raised here so it's been incredible to see it go from nothing to what it is today.
Thanks! Definitely pumped for the new site. I don't post as much as I used to but I look at the site everyday still.
If you don't join the baseball thread, I'll be bummed. Especially since I'm going to take my Pirates fandom a bit more seriously this year, going to follow them and the Cards together.
Need to get a Pirates hat, might get one this weekend. Still need to get an Orioles hat too. So this season, I'll be following four teams: -Cardinals -Mariners -Pirates -Orioles Thank you T-Mobile for the free MLB.TV subscription.
Apologies if this has already been said but how do we go about transferring over our 'prestigious' status from AP?
I like how, in our earlier years, a lot of us had names that referenced songs or bands and when we got older, as if to prove our maturity or something, we chose our real names. Perhaps I am strange, but I find it somewhat amusing. Ha.
It is pretty funny! When I joined ap I thought fire was the coolest thing AND my favourite band just announced a song with fire in the name? No chance I'm not gonna make my username that! Now? I would very badly struggle to come up with a username, even my twitter handle and tumblr url are fairly old. One being a TV show reference and one being a slightly modified saying I guess.
All of my usernames either involve a variation on my name or "Lenin". Haha. It is pretty unimaginative.
I created my account in 2003, when we were taught in high school that the internet is a dangerous place where you should never use your real name, because it's obviously full of predators. It seems that the narrative has changed.
