weak episode Everything that was great about Da Ali G show is kind of lost here. Things feel too forced and over the top. He really needs to focus on getting the people to speak and say dumb shit on their own rather than just create a ludicrous situation and throw people into it. The quinceañera bit was decent, but makes me question the authenticity of the whole thing. Seemed too ridiculous to be real. All that being said, I still chuckled throughout and will continue to watch the rest of the season. Just feel like there's soooooo much potential here that's kind of being wasted.
Idk why he started the show with such duds.... I almost gave up in episode 3 Show is still hit and miss but enough hits to keep me going
this was the best episode/the only one where every segment worked the yacht guy openly being cool with human trafficking was wild even for this show
I love how the office dudes just roll with these totally ridiculous training routines and never once stop him to question him.
I didn’t like this week’s episode, thought it was the worst one so far. I think he’s at his best where he’s walking circles around them and exposing their obviously hypocritical perspectives. Watching someone take a blowjob mid-conversation in stride is middle school. Don’t get me wrong - I’ll always enjoy Mark Tom and Travis show style comedy, I just expect more from this show.
This show is kind of a bummer. Having been a huge fan of Da Ali G Show, I was super excited for this, but I feel like a lot of this just seems forced. There's a lot of Sacha doing dumb shit and the interviewee either just awkardly/blindly agreeing, or completely shutting him down (ie the pedophile segment this week)
the pedophile segment was just a less funny version of the part of the Dumb Starbucks episode of Nathan For You when he gets the lawyer to accidentally sign the contract saying he was legally responsible if they got sued lol
But Nathan actually got the guy to agree/sign. The pedophile segment was just the guy adamantly refusing to participate. The whole thing was over the top and ultimately just made Sacha look dumb rather than David Pyne.
True! I am actually confused and what it really reminds me of is in the Claw Of Shame episode where he asks the magician/escape artist if he can list him as a consultant, reminded me of Sacha's book lol yeah I feel like this show could of benefitted from a little more time messing with people and selecting the best moments, it feels like this is just everything they got and some of them are misses.
I mean, I can't imagine it's easy to get one on one interview time with Bernie Sanders, Ted Coppell, Dick Chaney, Sarah Palin, etc... So I guess they have to use whatever they can get. Maybe I'm just nostalgic for it, but it seems like Da Ali G show was just so much more consistent. The characters he played were obviously more fleshed out, and just seemed more believable to being with. Nathan For You is in my top 5 shows ever, so Nathan + Sacha should be a homerun. I guess I'm just a little disappointed considering how I'm basically the target audience for this show.
it's so gross that people are still joking about sexual assault in prison, not just SBC it was just super noticeable because he did an entire segment about it the Rap Genius guy was douchey enough the Corey Lewandowski, David Clarke and the gun guy segments were all wild, I can't believe Corey doesn't know Bob Marley and he got David Clarke to say he would support Nazis in 1939
Yeah, the past two weeks have been pretty bad. Hopefully it’s a mid-season slump and it picks up towards the end.
Agreed. Last two eps were very weak and the german omg whatever the fuck character is annoying. Enjoyed the first three episodes though.
Only good part was the ex-con/chef. I laughed pretty hard at the "anally-aged veal in a strawberry prophylactic”
