Saw them on my birthday in June 2017, one of my favorite shows for sure. They were a ton of fun and sounded incredible. Still sort of regret missing them supporting YDL in 2019 because Clairo and Beabadoobee were in town the same night.
Saw them four times: twice for WGAB and YDL. Feel very lucky to have caught them in some pretty small spots. Best show was at a very small bar in St. Paul MN called the Amsterdam in fall of 2019 with maybe 400 people and the god damn Dirty Nil opening. Felt like everything in the world was gonna be alright. And then (gestures broadly).
Saw them once on lasr night of a tour and they played Judy French twice never seen anyone do that before or since
i'm still bummed the Dirty Nil, White Reaper tour didn't come near NY. caught them almost 10 times since 2015. never with the new line-up but that's the way she goes. weird seeing their wikipedia in the past tense
Went to that Dirty Nil / White Reaper show in Des Moines, IA and there was maaaaybe 100 people there. One of the best shows I’ve ever been to.
Can’t say I’m too surprised they’re hanging it up given how the pandemic truly fucked their trajectory and while I enjoyed most of Ride and some of Empty - they’re not the records they should’ve followed up You Deserve Love with. Maybe they’ll come back a few years later with the original line up and make something amazing?
In a row or spread out? I saw La Dispute open and close with Such Small Hands once lol. Maybe like 4 years ago, and it was only a 30 minute festival slot too. Bizarre stuff
I think it was back to back at the end but there may have been one song in between. Best I can recollect they pulled up the opening band to join in and then they said "we're playing it again because the opening band is requesting it and it's the last night of tour"
jeez. last show didnt have Hunter and was the same setlist they've been playing all tour. tough way to go out. gonna choose to remember the better times, ha
