basically exactly the kind of first impressions i expected lol. even if this is a failure i think it will be so fun to see how he tries to do it

 

I have no knowledge of the book but I trust these people to make an interesting film!

 

the only knowledge I have is reading the summary on Wikipedia when it was announced and The Airborne Toxic Event getting their name from it and it's my most anticipated rn

 

"Star studded" is very far from how I'd describe this cast

 

depends who you are, Adam Driver, Greta Gerwig and Don Cheadle are definitely stars if you're a theater kid/film twitter person haha

 

i mean adam driver is a star of the star wars. one of the titular stars

 

I mean it's not the quality of the 3 of them but 3 stars =/= star-studded

 

they fought a war over his stardom

 

Wow I didn't realize that's where the name came from, George Lucas really thought ahead on that one

 

I don't remember much about the book at all, but this definitely tracks with what I do

 

I read this when I was 17 because Geoff Rickly mentioned it and I had no clue what was going on. Maybe I should re-read it again lol.

I feel like 90% of it was "this is something I never thought I'd see in a Noah Baumbach movie". But when it does feel more conventionally like one of his movies it totally works

His funniest for sure besides Mistress America.
