basically exactly the kind of first impressions i expected lol. even if this is a failure i think it will be so fun to see how he tries to do it
the only knowledge I have is reading the summary on Wikipedia when it was announced and The Airborne Toxic Event getting their name from it and it's my most anticipated rn
depends who you are, Adam Driver, Greta Gerwig and Don Cheadle are definitely stars if you're a theater kid/film twitter person haha
I read this when I was 17 because Geoff Rickly mentioned it and I had no clue what was going on. Maybe I should re-read it again lol.
This goes so hard lmao, a little weird for its own good and doesn't stick it's landing but yeah probably one of his best. I feel like 90% of it was "this is something I never thought I'd see in a Noah Baumbach movie". But when it does feel more conventionally like one of his movies it totally works His funniest for sure besides Mistress America. Surprise small roles for Bill Camp and Chloe Fineman (or maybe not because she's not in the credits or IMDB?)
What a strange film. It felt like the actors were being given direction by someone who doesn't speak English.
