Fellow Scotch heads! I have Ardbeg's Wee Beastie and it straight up tastes like smoked meat and tar lol
I haven't tried Ardbeg 10, but I've had two bottles of Ardbeg Uigeadail. Great, great stuff. And, obviously, Lagavulin 16 is a no brainer if you like the peat. It tastes like the holidays.
Went into the store to grab some Four Roses Single Barrel and came out with the new Makers “The Keepers” release. “The Heart” was my favorite pour of last year, so I am very excited to try it. Didn’t even know it was out. Maker’s Mark Wood Finishing Series ‘The Keepers Release’
On the recent subject of Lagavulin 16, given that here in the UK the price has increased by around 100% to around £80 when it could be bought for nearer £40/50 around 7 years ago means I'm unlikely to buy it again any time soon. I have a 10YO from travel retail on the go however and it does the job. And the 8YO is £55 online so I'd go got that over the 16.
Brother-in-law got me a bottle of Aberlour A'bunadh for celebrating my having published a book. I used to have a bottle but that was a few years ago. Still the finest Scotch I've ever had
I celebrated a professional qualification with the same bottle. It's literally double the price these days as when I bought it 7 years ago. £40 was so good for a cask strength but £80 in the UK too steep for me these days

they had old granddad bib 7 year at the store so ive been sipping on that a little through the weekend. its good but i like the 114 better

I usually go with Johnnie Walker Black Label, but got gifted a bottle of Makers Mark 46 for my 40th birthday the other week that was pretty good.
Straight or in a cocktail? I’ve been strictly on Wild Turkey 101 (and the 8 year as stated above) with my old fashioneds straight, any of the special Makers releases have been good sippers. The Four Roses single Barrels as well
wt 101 rye is probably my favorite bottle in that price range. people are catching on to it too, its out of stock a lot more lately where i am
btw whats the threads opinion on blantons? i saw one at the store for the first time ever last week and was tempted but didnt go for it because i didnt want to shell out $75. ive heard its good but can be found cheaper
I grab it if I see it but prefer Eagle Rare. Honestly prefer regular Buffalo Trace, and it’s 1/3 the price
still need to try eagle rare. picked up a bottle last year but waiting for the right occasion since its stupid hard to find
