I have 2 friends who traveled from Mexico to Vegas for this. If anyone knows someone selling 2 tix for tomorrow, let me know
For some context, this happened with 50 mph gusts in the area. One killed, dozens injured as high winds cause stage collapse at Spain festival Definitely the right call, as disappointed as I would be if I’d traveled for it.
Wind We Were Young Wynd Festival one of those. I am so sad. you want to make the emos more emo? cancel their festival.
Sorry to those that missed out. Hopefully some of the bands can work out some indoor pop-up shows tonight.
~*~ without warning ~*~ Give people a heads up about severe weather conditions and that they are monitoring the situation days in advance. This isn't something that spontaneously occurred this morning. I believe it's called customer service or something
Is it true that this horrible wind has been in the forecast for a few days? If so, some sort of notice more than an hour before showtime would have probably been a better move. They cannot control the weather but they can control communication and planning ahead.
They posted about the high winds earlier this week. I think on Wednesday? Police and weather made them cancel today it seems
If they were posting about it earlier in the week, that’s at least a good sign they were being proactive and aware of the situation.
Ah yes, very glad I spent stupid money on a hotel and a flight right when this festival dropped lmao. What a joke.
Cancellations due to weather are always a lose-lose situation. They can either a. Cancel a few days in advance because of what the weather looks like, but if it ends up being a nice day, they get backlash for jumping the gun or b. Waiting until last minute hoping the weather holds but but when it doesn’t getting backlash for cancelling so late Imo the right answer is always cancel earlier to allow people to figure out their plans, and safety comes first when it comes to weather 10/10 times. But I know what I feel is not what everyone feels. I remember back in 2016 blink-182 was suppose to do a big show on the beach in Atlantic City but it was cancelled a few days beforehand because a hurricane was suppose to bring a lot of rain and wind. Ended up being a pretty nice day other than a rough ocean. Lots of backlash saying they made the decision too early. But again, safety always comes first and letting fans know as early as possible is usually the best way to go about it. and that’s my 2 cents
I was a victim of that Atlantic City Blink show that got cancelled due to weather and then it was a beautiful day so I can see both sides of this.
