Insane amount of problematic artists on that lineup. Surprised they didn’t try to bring Brand New back. Gross.
Feel like there are less bands I'd be stoked about next year. We'll see how it goes this year haha. I need to see Green Day at some point but they tour a lot so if SoCo and Midtown play more shows it's a pass for me
Honestly more hyped for this year's lineup compared to next year. I feel like 2023 has way bigger names so I imagine the onsale will be even more of a shit show than this one.
Anyway a little bird told me that if you pony up for the Extra Super Platinum VIP Package for next year, Kris Roe will personally lob a kick drum at your head. So there's that at least!
Part of the reason I don't want to go next year is because I have zero desire to see blink or Sum 41 or Good Charlotte or Simple Plan or NFG. Would skip all of those pretty easily. So I guess it's not for me anyway
How did they do it AGAIN? Lmao I like this year's lineup better anyway, but definitely not going two years in a row to Vegas. Ended up making a trip out of it and leave on Monday for San Diego, then Joshua Tree National Park, then Vegas. Will be a dope time... going to the Sunday show (still have 2 extra tickets for sale if anyone is looking as well)
Wow I didnt think they could top this years lineup. But are Michelle Branch and The Veronicas the only two female acts on the bill? That's kinda sad.
Yeah incredible that they couldn't find a bunch of female artists from a scene/era known for dick jokes, blatant misogyny, and outright abuse Same can be said about this year's too I guess minus the dick jokes but feels like there are more women and less abusers despite more artists overall? Could be wrong tho
I mean yeah they were scarce but off the top of my head Against Me, The Donnas, Tsunami Bomb, The Distillers, Stand Atlantic, Tonight Alive, Pale Waves and Meg and Dia could've fit in on the lineup.
Oh 100% don't get me wrong they coulda done better. But it's symptomatic of a bigger issue that's all I'm saying (obvious point is obvious I know)
Also Tonight Alive, We Are The In Crowd, newer acts like Pinkshift, Meet Me @ The Altar, Doll Skin, Yours Truly, The Regrettes, etc.
I'm less upset about the lack of diversity and more upset about giving platforms to people who are FUCKING RAPISTS.
I watched Drive Me Crazy yesterday and forgot they were in it as the band The Electro-Cutes, which is a fucking rad band name.
This year has both Avril and Paramore right? So if you go by poster... 1/2 headliners and 1/5 of the top tier bands with placement in the middle of the poster. They could've certainly done better, but I think something like that is kinda the best you can expect given the state of the scene Whereas 2023... do any of the two headliners or bands in the middle of the column have a non cis white man in them?
Infinitely prefer this years line up. Blink with Tom is exciting, but I’d take MCR and Paramore over Blink and Green Day any day. I’ll take my chances with hoping for YC and SC at adjacent festival.
