They said that about MCR too, though.... Sure, it won't happen, I know - But if you got a bunch of alt-rock bands from the 80s/90s to tour together like a giant lollapalooza again... Gen X (and their kids) would go, wouldnt they? But alas, this is emo, and my oldest is trying to figure out the cash...
this just goes to show that the world needs a new (better) Warped Tour (with different management and less creeps)
Saosin being on this line-up and not Circa - I wonder if they'll finally be bringing out the new Saosin album this year..
Holy shit lolol I've never once been to Vegas so hey might as well make this the first time, see y'all there Even if the sets all suck I wanna see the chaos (and then probably retire from music festivals for the rest of my life)
When I saw the post in the Paramore thread my first thought was “huh, The Killers have a festival now?”
seriously tho, setting aside the name for a sec the better question is: how is THIS festival in Vegas with no P!@tD?
as much as i want to get hyped for this show, there's alot of red flags: 1: the PRICE for a one day show 2: so many bands on a one day show, you're bound to miss alot of the bands you really want to see 3: COVID. i'm willing to wager a fifth of the bands won't make it to this show due to catching covid. 4: no refunds?
Absolutely would not have been worth it to me a few years ago but if you have a little expendable income (absolutely zero shame on those who don't obv, this thing IS fucking pricey) then you just gotta adopt the mentality of "I'm going to this for the spectacle as much as the music" imo haha. Of course if we're mid-covid wave again when this October rolls around you won't catch me there but that's gonna be a gamble with buying tickets to anything for quite awhile, like it or not.
Also I’m pretty sure this festival is just a huge cash grab for live nation. Even tho they are using front gate tickets for ticket sales
Not all some do it for other reasons. I feel like if we werent living in a Covid world something like this wouldn’t happen or if it did it wouldn’t be as crazy. Live nation needs money so why not throw together a one day crazy ass lineup fest sell it out and make bank
I mean typically Live Nation do cash grabs by doing underwhelming line-ups, not just stacking the line-up on a single day. Its definitely a way to cash grab, but it seems an odds with pretty much every festival I've seen them promote. They could've easily just had less bands though? I dunno. I couldn't justify travelling so far for a one day festival. I'd also spend a good chunk of time just stressing about who I'm missing etc. In a perverse way I'd rather not go at all than miss 3/4 of the bands I want to see. It'll sell out though, obviously. Just a bit bummed as their is such an audience for this.
It is definitely weird that it’s one day. You could have half of these bands on one day and it would still sell out. The conflicts are going to be abundant which is why it’s a pass for me, This lineup for a 3 day festival would sell out and people would pay a pretty penny.
we all meet up at the clown casino because that’s what we are going to be when it gets cancelled but we all paid to go to Vegas anyway
