That dude has no nuance to his emo schtick. It's just "black wig and eyeliner" and it's so lame. It's SNL levels of laziness and feels way less authentic than even a Live Nation-sponsored nostalgia fest.
Decided to take a stab at potential set times since I didn’t see any that incorporated the ending time being midnight.
Minor mistake on stage one where state champs is as far as times, but this is a cool schedule in my opinion!
I could totally get behind this, and kinda expect the actual schedule to be very similar. This layout even gives me a solid 90 minute lunch break and 1 hour for dinner haha Only two big conflicts on here would be Wolf Alice vs. AAR vs. Senses Fail and JEW vs. Dashboard. I kinda can't see the latter happening, though, but we'll see. My day would look like: MM@TA > Armor for Sleep > Acceptance > Starting Line > PVRIS > Thursday > LONG BREAK > AAR > TSSF > Alkaline Trio > The Maine > LONG BREAK > Jimmy Eat World > Avril > Paramore > My Chem Damn, even after sacrificing TBS, Dashboard, Wolf Alice, Bright Eyes, Manchester Orchestra and The Used, that is STILL one of the craziest days I'd ever have at a fest.
Thank you guys for the kind words, putting that schedule together took way longer than I’d like to admit. My day would look like: Red Jumpsuit, Hawthorne Heights, story of the year, wonder years, starting line, atreyu, Thursday, anberlin, Silverstein, AAR, alkaline trio, the used, dashboard, JEW, TBS, Bright Eyes, Paramore, MCR that would easily be the most packed day I’ve ever had at a concert conflicts:atreyu vs. Bayside, neck deep vs silverstein, AAR v senses fail, Avril vs Bright Eyes, AFI v Dashboard. AFI would be the biggest band I’d miss, but I’d choose Dashboard since I’ve never seen them live and have seen AFI several times
The Starting Line conflicting with Poppy would be a real son of a bitch for me. And besides Glassjaw, I wouldn’t really have any reason to go stage 3, which would be nice. Ha
I'd eat this sandwich. It's my lazy I don't feel like cooking go to. For $20 I'd like a condiment tho
Totally get the rationale never seen vs seen - but from my perspective AFI is without a doubt the superior live band (if only to see how crazy Davey gets onstage) \ /theoretical setlist comment
That is a very good point. I’ve only ever seen AFI in smaller venues (which was awesome) but you gotta imagine that Davey is going to go absolutely nuts in front of 30,000 screaming fans
One of the biggest critiques of the astroworld set up by concert organizers post tragedy, was having a single headliner with nobody else to draw the crowd away so i cant imagine there wont be a conflict here, and if there isnt, there will be ample time to get over to the main stage vs a rush so your timing works out. I just cant imagine they would want everybody at one place.
This is why you have to split the headliners. You can't have 80,000 people (or however many tens of thousands) all watching My Chem. It'd be a nightmare.
