instead of going to this festival I’m just going to the local venue that throws an emo night every month so I can see some dude with his laptop playing only the songs I wanna hear and I can spend $10 on a ticket and like $30 on booze Boom easy enough
Yeah but you won't be able to spend 200+ a night on a hotel room and drunkenly lose at roulette so jokes on you
I feel like that's just generic marketing speak, they pretty clearly had it planned as two days from the get go
... this is 100% how it will be set up, on rotating stages with 0 downtime between bands unless something goes wrong.
It's not dirty ... it's how most big festivals work, unless the marketing material says no conflicting sets.
I'll be curious if anyone else is playing during the Paramore/MCR sets. Especially if they don't overlap, the timing of this thing is gonna be tight enough that they'll probably have to have bands on the other stages, but that'd be a rough timeslot. Maybe since they extended it to midnight they can have all non Paramore/MCR bands wrap up by 10:30, and have MCR from like 10:30-11:30, and Paramore 11:00-12:00, or something like that.
Also watching @cricketandclover slowly go insane seeing the same stupid questions asked over and over, quickly becoming a Joker origin story is the best part of the thread
I can’t take anymore talk about MCR and Paramore conflicting. THEY WONT CONFLICT! There’s only 1 “main stage.” Paramore isn’t gonna be on any side stage, even as a closer. Regarding inevitable conflicts, keep in mind the artists who don’t tour regularly anymore. Starting Line, Armor for Sleep, All American Rejects, Avril (I know she’ll be everywhere this year but she rarely tours), Bright Eyes (who knows how long this reunion run lasts) etc. With those exceptions pretty much the rest of the lineup tours year round
The people running WWWY are reading this thread and are gonna adjust the festival accordingly to everyone’s worst nightmares
I’m staying at Park MGM, has anyone stayed there? I was supposed to in April 2020 when they first opened but…you know lol
This is the last thing I’ll say about the conspiracy crowd because it really doesn’t deserve any more attention, but it is very funny to see how many of them view the addition of a second day as validation that this was all just “thrown together”. As if it was 30 minutes into pre-sale and Livenation started a group chat with nearly 70 bands, at least a dozen food/drink/bathroom vendors, the property management for the venue, and the city department that handles ordinances for this stuff all at once and went “lol hey this is going well, who’s down for a second day? we can work out the deets later just send me a y/n real quick lol” and every single party involved was like “lmao ya dude let’s go”
Honestly all the conspiracy crowd does is give me such an appreciation for my own intelligence. Like I never really thought of myself as a smart person, but then I start hearing people talk about how music festivals being fake and vaccines having microchips and John F Kennedy Jr coming back from the dead, and I'm like damn maybe I CAN solve that rubix cube!
Clarifying: Were any tickets available as digital or print-at-home? Or was shipping the only option? Because a lot of Stubhub listings have "Electronic Transfer" as the delivery method, which wasn't even an option I saw on the FGT website.
Wild we were all like..this should be two days. LN knew all along they were gonna double their money on this thing from the start. Here’s to hoping this festival put much needed $$$ in the pockets of our favorite bands. Just as a recent example I sww Appleseed Cast (know they aren’t on this) posted they were hoping to couch surf for the Thursday tour. They’ve been playing since 1997. So if this thing can help many of these bands push out another album, I say do it yearly.
