I'm trying not to travel far for concerts considering how many uncertainties there are (especially with covid) but I feel like this is too good to miss. Worst case I get to travel to Vegas for the first time
this is either the greatest lineup ever conceived from a target demographic standpoint, or emo fyre festival. several of these bands have been inactive for years. it should've been a weekend, at the very least. 5 days would be my guess if we didn't have the date already. looks like there's a no refund policy as well. live nation and all, i'd still be skeptical. it's crack cocaine on a poster. i couldn't believe my eyes.
I feel bad for acts like Car Seat Headrest, Wolf Alice and TV Girl, (and Bright Eyes honestly) because this isn’t really their scene so I hope they have decent crowds.
MCR Paramore BMTH ADTR bright Eyes Avril and JEW will all get 45-60 minutes - the rest will vary between 15-30 haha
this feels like the kind of thing some dumb kid fanbooks and everyone else relentlessly mocks them for even if it were a three day lineup I'd still struggle to believe it was happening. how are they fitting 65 bands on three stages across 12 hours? seems like a bunch of these bands are gonna be stuck playing 20 minute sets...
I wonder if All Time Low was supposed to be Part if this and got dropped by Live Nation with the jack stuff. It’s definitely the right call by LN but they stand out as a glaring omission.
I'm gonna post this here too Honestly once you calm down because all the logos are all flashy and fun on the poster.... this isn't all that wacky compared to riot fest. Avril instead of misfits ...and maybe instead of 20 scene bands, it's 20 more punk bands/indie/new wave. The logos on the poster definitely make this look insane and this is obviously 100% the same type of fan but Jimmy eat world as 6th headliner that's not THAT crazy.
Booked my hotel already. Too good a lineup to miss. Although 60 bands in one day seems so hectic. I'm not good at math, if there's 3 stages, 20 bands per stage, for 12 hours, how long would the average set be? Kinda wish it was stretched out to 2 days, but also looking forward to just enjoying Vegas the next day.
I would fly from NY if this was two days. A single day festival just screams 30 minute sets with an insane number of conflicts.
- riot fest is 3 days - I think its the fact that its all scene bands. normally festivals have a bit more of a diverse lineup - would a band like the wonder years really be near the bottom of the riot fest lineup? I think while at top you're right, the middle part of this lineup is a lot stronger than riot fest. Rather than a couple of A-tier headliners, a bunch of B-tiers to get people to actually show up, and C-tiers to fill out the lineup this feels pretty much all B-tiers with very little C-tiers.
Assuming 10 minute changeovers its basically 20 minute sets for everyone but the headliners who get to play for 50 minutes.
