No Doubt would have been a great headliner before they announced the Sphere thing. Now, the widespread demand is significantly tampered because they added too many shows. The last few have a ton of tickets left still.
I would think The Killers will fit a little more than No Doubt at WWWY. With Mr Birghtside being played at every emo night ever, and them having a song named almost exactly as the festival, plus them being from Las Vegas. I think the crowd that attend the festival wouldnt be mad with them headlining.
I still just want them to pivot for one year to late 90s alt rock. Everclear, Eve 6, Lit, you get the idea. Some of them are getting pretty old though, and it's a different audience clearly, but there's an untapped market for a mega festival of that genre!
The Killers and No Doubt would make sense if it was more a general alternative music fest like a Riot type or something. But neither of those bands are going to be on a lineup with like… A Day To Remember, Yellowcard, Bring Me The Horizon type bands
I was going to say, they can bump BMTH to a headliner level as they have being headlining festivals overseas for the last couple of years. But they are playing Sick New World and not even headlining it. Maybe something like The Killers/Twenty One Pilots? Considering its their last tour before taking a break they can promote it as "last TOP show before their hiatus"
I can see them throwing a bunch of money to get At The Drive In to reunite again. Circa Survive too. Although I don't see that one happening for a long time.
i have for so long wanted a '90s alt/rock flashback festival in this style, since so many of the remaining bands of that time are still out there touring and playing all the time. Lit even did play WWY in 2023, but IIRC they were directly opposite Green Day which I imagine hurt their crowd size
Makes sense, going forward this should be an every other year fest if they want to avoid constant repeat acts. Also explains why Warped Tour seems to have gotten a lot more heavy hitters this year.
We all saw it coming and obviously much needed. Like the system fest. Take a year off....build excitment... rinse repeat the same bands haha
This is almost exactly what I was gonna say! Hah. They're just gonna bring it back in 2027 with the same artists on shuffle plus 4-6 younger artists that happen to pop-off between now and then with whatever's hot in the punk/emo/hardcore space with younger folks.
