If I were there I would see what the new Anberlin disaster is like, maybe peek at Underoath and Saosin. I would absolutely see Dashboard Confessional, but wouldn't really recommend that set to you. I would see some Story of the Year if there was time after Coheed, check out Cobra for Gabe and the fun of it all. Maybe some TBS and Used if time permitted, maybe see Bayside. I would see Chiodos, knowing it will probably be a shell of itself, but again.... I don't think I would actually recommend that batch to you, just extra color for what I would see
Besides Motion city soundtrack and movements, I don't have that many conflicts as far as the schedule goes, I already had a feeling i'd be seeing some partial sets.
Looking at the main stages, I feel comfortable in saying that the only things I'd really want to see there before FOB and MCR are Underoath and Coheed and with Underoath doing their own tour for that record, Cartel is the one to watch there. The Starting Line - Motion City - Bayside - NFG is an excellent combo
Been working on this since the drop… think I got my overall gameplan Saturday (VIP) The Forecast 11:05-11:35 Mayday Parade 12:25-1:05 Underoath 1:05-1:50 probably leave early Devil Wears Prada 1:50-2:30 Coheed and Cambria 2:30-3:30 Simple Plan 4:10-4:55 Taking Back Sunday 4:55-5:35 *The Used 5:35-6:25 or catch end of Silverstein Bayside 6:30-7:20 Jimmy Eat World 7:20-8:10 Fall Out Boy 9:05-10:40 My Chemical Romance 10:40-12 Sunday (GA) Emery 11:25-12:05 Anberlin 12:45-1:30 *Underoath 1:30-1:50 if leave early Saturday or Devil Wears Prada 1:50 if miss start from Saturday Thursday 2:25-3:15 *Story of the Year end of set -3:40 Senses fail 3:45-4:35 *Starting Line 4:40 thru The Best Of Me *Silverstein 5:00, maybe first couple of songs Armor For Sleep 5:15-6 *August Burns Red 6:05- maybe first couple of songs or end of The Used if skipped on Saturday Chiodos 6:50-7:40 *Hawthorne Heights 7:40-8 end of set *maybe FOB or MCR, or just have an early night
I'm working on my schedule but I think it's something like this. Underoath The devil wears prada Thursday Four year strong (partial set) Senses fail (partial set) The wonder years (partial set) Taking back sunday Motion city soundtrack (partial set) Movements Pierce the veil Jimmy eat world Dance gavin dance Fall out boy My chemical romance
I'm glad when we were young didn't mess up my schedule like sick new world did this year, three of my top 5 played at the same time (System of a down, Sleep token, Swans)
This is how my schedule is so far for both days. Dark grey means a must see, light grey means Im still thinking about it. Also not sure why on my grid The Starting Line repeats at the end. It got downloaded like that Saturday: Sunday:
TBS - Silverstein - Armor for Sleep is the only major overlap for me. I’ve seen What To Do When You’re Dead and Discovering The Waterfront before. Silverstein is my favorite of the 3 but I’m also going to their Friday show. It’ll be a tough call
This *should* be a feasible schedule for me based on what I experienced last year: Emery Saosin Thursday FYS/Senses Fail (will probably see half of each set) The Starting Line Motion City Bayside Jimmy FOB MCR
If I were going for just one day, I'd do Cartel, Underoath, 3OH!3, State Champs, Cobra Starship, The Maine, Silverstein, Motion City Soundtrack, Bayside, Jimmy Eat World, A Day to Remember, Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance
I was a big fan of Chiodos back in the day. I've never seen them live. Are they worth checking out? I don't really have any other conflict at the beginning of their set besides grabbing food/beer.
It will be their first show in over 9 years and I think only Craig Owens is involved from the original members, so not sure what to expect from their set.
I saw them in 2013 with my favorite lineup they ever had (the one with the guy from The Fall of Troy) and I was really impressed, but with this being a hired guns thing and their first show back in a long time it's kind of risky
Comparing set times with album lengths, it seems some bands wont have time to play their album in full: Mayday Parade have a 40 minutes set and A Lesson In Romantics is 46 minutes long Dashboard Confessional have a 40 minuted set and Dusk and Summer is 43 minutes long (unless they cut Vindicated as it was originally a hidden track, but dont think they will cut one of their hits) Coheed and Cambria have a 60 minuted set and Good Apollo is 71 minutes long The Forecast have a 35 minutes set and In The Shadow of Two Gunmen is 37 minutes long. Some are more easy to achieve than others, but not sure what will Mayday Parade and Coheed will cut to fit their albums in their time slot
Everything played slightly faster and zero crowd interaction. kinda hope someone just literally plays the CD. My money’s on Millionaires.
Cobra def isn't doing the album with Nice Guys, you make me feel, good girls go bad, snakes on a plane, and hot mess on both of their sets.
No one’s mentioned the possibility of medleys. You still have to factor in talking in between songs/gear swap/crowd interaction etc. A mash up for some of the lesser known tracks could help accomodate the set times.
This will probably be my schedule! Day 1 will be me hopping around to see as many of my favorite bands as possible, and Day 2 will be me hanging with my friends in the afternoon before locking in at the main stages at night! Since I'm going both days, the only major issues for me are: -Hey Monday playing while most of the crowd will basically be held hostage at mainstage is pretty unfortunate -Against The Current starts midway through Tonight Alive's sets, so I'll probably have to miss part of either.
Join the facebook groups, there will be tons of people unloading wristbands for dirt cheap last minute. And you'll just have to meet up with them
But if that doesn't work tickets for sunday are still available on the fest's website, it has the option of doing "will call" It's crazy how cheap tickets get.
