With the 5th stage coming back I don't see an issue fitting all the albums in full. The only headscratcher is Coheed with that hour and fifteen minute album haha. But I could them putting Coheed as the closer on a side stage against MCR so they could have a longer set. Would be a good way to control crowd overflows too.
Vegas sucks and I hate that this festival is there. Last two years were great and I'm sure next year will be but I'm hoping adjacent announces a good lineup so I don't feel as bad skipping this.
I dunno about that. Those bands are exactly the radio rock i would expect on your average alt rock station these days, mixed in with the others you mentioned like foo fighters and The White Stripes. I cant talk about Puddle Of Mud because well they are puddle of mud and a terrible band. But Misery Business, Gives you Hell and American Idiot are huge radio rock songs that have been staples on american rock/alt stations since they came out. Since you mentioned it was the bay area, I looked up LIVE 105 which is their alternative rock station and their last 10 songs played just now were by Foo Fighters, All American Rejects, Cage The Elephant, The Killers, Bush, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Nirvana , Weezer, Offspring and White Stripes. Seems like your basic Alt rock station playing the usual. Correct me if im wrong?
They do. But that's a three-day festival. The reason "destination city" is tossed around for WWYF is because it's a single day fest that, presumably, people would plan the rest of a weekend around. With Riot a lot of people will fly-in night before (or even day of), go to the festival, and fly home on Monday. The festival is the destination. There's less concern about doing other things around the city.
I dont think we need to discuss it for pages... The bands will play full albums... if set times are an issue, they'll cut interludes, maybe rework some bridges and hit the choruses or something, but this is advertised as bands playing albums and that's what you'll get for the most part. My only concern is going to be the conflicts again but I won't worry about that till I have to.
Oh cool Daisy Grenade is awesome. Millionaires is not awesome though haha. And I have no idea who CARR is.
Straight from front gate tickets: When We Were Young returns in 2024, bringing all your favorite emo & rock bands from the past two decades together on Saturday, October 19 at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds featuring over 50 full album live performances and more. Every band posting have specifically said “in full” when mentioning their album. Pretty clear cut to me
Wow wasn’t expecting additions that quickly! Really happy to see more female representation now, both Hey Monday and Daisy Grenade are great. Also glad Coheed confirmed they’re doing the whole album. Man, I may just book this and go solo if no one wants to join me. A lot of can’t miss sets.
Hey Monday. Great addition. Now we're talking. I was hoping to see every band that wasn't part of 22/23 on this. Like no question. Agreed on another page that VersaEmerge should be here.
Millionaires?! oh man haha at this rate I almost expect bROKENCYDE to be added to the mix (but also, pls no)
