The follow up tweet is great too because people really think non refundable means they don’t refunded even if it got cancelled lol
re: Covid I'm just expecting the US to officially announce covid as an endemic in the spring and then it's just everybody for themselves.
Few thoughts no one asked for: - No matter what happens, this is going to be a really fun bone for the internet (and this community, specifically) to chew on for the next year. - I'd buy an NFT of Conor Oberst's reaction to seeing that poster for the first time. - I wonder if any forward thinking casinos (or internet betting people or whatever) will be taking action on how many bands from the original poster will drop out. I'm guessing 9. - It'll probably sell out right away and make a mint. They'll announce the same thing for the following day and make a double mint. - I hope all the bands (but especially the lower tiered ones) are paid fairly and sell a fuckload of "exclusive" merch so they have an easier time touring/recording/releasing music in the future. - People who go to the show with a laid back attitude will have a lot of fun, people who sweat bullets over set lengths and conflicts will have significantly less fun. - It'll be interesting to see if the mega-reaction to this line up causes other major festivals (that have for the most part shunned this scene in recent years) to add more of these types of bands in the future. - If this goes even remotely well, all the bands not on this one will probably be on the next one.
Wife (who’s normally not interested in my music) excitedly told me “WE HAVE TO GO TO THIS!” last night. for better or worse, see y’all in Vegas
this being in vegas was perfect too if was just in some random place it would get alot less interest imo (although still do well)
Feel like as long as Paramore and MCR don't conflict, majority of the people will be fine. Honestly, this should have been the resurrected Bamboozle's lineup over two days in NJ.
Lineup is very cool, however it’s a LiveNation fest. They are notoriously bad at organizing these niche genre nostalgia fests.
I just saw some random person on the internet be like this festival is going to be handled wrong they should let the people that run warped tour do it MF ITS THE SAME PEOPLE I’m almost ready to log off for the day
I can't remember if I posted this here but with the excitement around MCR's reunion and a crowd that size coupled with the recent Astroworld tragedy, hope they do a LOT of planning around crowd size control.
I guarantee the Monday after this fest, Bamboozle will announce an early bird presale, or maybe even their headliners, in an attempt to strike while the irons hot.
Don’t oversell the festival and have a good set up unlike Astroworld where they oversold and the set up was pretty much a death trap. If they do that then it should be fine
i certainly get the astroworld stuff but in theory having something like that recently happen makes it even more likely this goes smoothly. they are much more likely to overprepare to avoid something like that again so soon
For sure. Fests start booking like a year in advance, they need to book artists before the artists start booking shows within the radius.
Very excited to see if we'll get any exclusive vinyl represses from this festival like Unoriginal Vinyl did at Furance Fest
one reply they said they counted “7-10”, whatever that means. You are probably most in the loop with this stuff, any names popping out to you? BMTH and Neck Deep are the only two that ring a bell to me abs even then I’m actually not entirely positive
So essentially there’s zero downtime? It’s going to be quite hard to catch full sets unless you camp at the same stage. By the time you get out of a crowd and get to another stage you’ll miss half the bands set.
its a mock, we have no idea how it’s actually going to look. I feel like MCR and Paramore won’t play at the same time but who knows.
So here’s what I know and what I am also assuming: BMTH - the lead singer physically assaulted his ex. Neck Deep - people in the accountability thread have said there are allegations against most of the current members. Palaye Royale - I remember hearing about misconduct allegations but I don’t know specifics. Assuming people may be including in their numbers: A Day To Remember - Josh isn’t in the band anymore but I’m sure the way they handled that left a sour taste in peoples mouth Pierce The Veil - Mike left the band but same as above, people are left with a sour taste after how it was handled There are most likely others because I’ve seen numerous people being this up but I’m not familiar with a lot of these acts to the point I know about any allegations.
Gotcha! Thanks. Mostly just wanted to be sure there wasn’t stuff I missed about bands on the bill I actually liked haha. Accountability thread is a good resource but I never know what I’ve missed elsewhere
