Still glad I went with VIP even though the area looks smaller. I’m assuming it’ll take 10-15 mins to cut through GA if you try to go between the two main stage VIP areas? Thinking I might have to stay over there during Thirty Seconds to Mars to guarantee a good spot for Blink.
It is what you make it. You’re probably not gonna get close if you want to see a lot of the different bands. Or if you just want to see the main stage, hang out all day and you’ll work your way up I’d imagine.
When they opened for Fall Out Boy this past summer here in LA. They only played 30 min but it was still an awesome set, they got 8 songs in and Chad played.
prayers out to anyone trying to do this venue in GA, theres no way I could possibly especially for the mainstages, the congestion was a disaster at sick new world. every headliner had to tell the crowd to back up because people couldnt move.
Would be great to snag tickets to see green day so I could skip them at the fest but it will be impossible
Too bad about the crowds and congestion. I guess these festivals have really gone massive since my last fest which was riot fest 2014 which was fine
Venue uses see tickets. I don’t know how reliable/stable they are when it comes to high volume events
Ah! So excited! One more grueling day of work and then off tomorrow and out in the evening. I think Sick new world was maybe a little more mosh heavy, but last year at wwyf there were no crowd issues. BMTH had a quick stop for a potential medical emergency, but I think things ended up being fine. I'm not one who wants to push up too close though, so I viewed a lot of mainstage bands from far back, and I did a lot of my viewing at side stages. I got around easy, got to drinks easy etc so it was a no brainer to skimp on the extra VIP costs. I'll report back when done this year. I have no idea who anyone really is in this thread, but if anyone wants to meet up for a drink, lets do it. The more the merrier. I got a crew of 6 for the weekend, with 4 going to the fest.
To me it all comes down to whether there's some sort of sound machine between the stages. I might be naive but I can't see why I can't go from left to right to left to right on the mainstays? And yeah I mean, I don't have to pit in the front....any semi decent location will do
Just realized this is Thursday not Friday. Haha whomp won't be there yet Weird I thought the initial hints were for Friday
Are we sure there will be a 2024? Pretty limited in terms of big headliners for something like this (and acts in general)
Sick New World brought System of a Down back to headline 2 years in a row. Wouldn't be shocked to see a repeat headliner (if it comes back next year). Could've sworn I saw someone confirm that 2024 has already been booked though and that they "managed to pull another rabbit out of the hat."
