A few years ago I went to Life Is Beautiful in Vegas. That was at the end of September. And while it was a nice 75 degrees and sunny during the day, at night it got cold as fuck. One of the nights it dropped to like 45 degrees during the headliner. Then again that fest ended at 1am every night.
Depends on how well the online chatter translates to actual sales. People seem really amped about this thing. Or they did yesterday, anyway... I've seen some people simmering on their initial "hot take" and going from a "HOLY SHIT! GOTTA GO!" to a "meh." But I still think it'll sell extremely well and potentially even sellout.
October in Vegas is like my ideal weather temp. Those of us who are always cold will rise and flourish!!!!
This lineup (especially the lower bands) will look drastically different before this (even?) happens. Some of these bands genuinely had no idea what they were signing up for and already want to drop lmao
No one has said anything publicly yet but it’s not a very good look when you’re not told anything beyond “MCR and Paramore are headlining this event in Vegas. Do you want to play it? We’ll work out details later”
private conversation had amongst a few people in different bands on here in a group chat. they had no idea what this was until it was basically announced.
surprising although assuming the money would be what they were offered not sure why they would not want to do just bc there are more bands than expected
I'd be stoked to be a part of it. Why would anyone want to drop off? Because it's only one day? I don't get it.
i looked at flights yesterday and they are really high compared to rest of the year. might just be bc its far out and prices will drop. same with hotels
That said, I am still going to attempt to go to this. It would be a great anniversary gift for my wife and I
I don't understand the angle that it's "not real" or "not going to take place." Live Nation knows how to run events of this size... It might wind up getting cancelled because of COVID and I'm sure some bands will drop between now and when it takes place but the people behind the scenes know what they're doing.
Exactly what I was saying yesterday - “think of all the sets I’ll miss I go to this” is very silly thought when you consider “think of all the sets I’ll miss if I don’t go to this”
They think it's going to be some sort of a Fyre Fest sitch? Or Covid will keep it from happening? Or what? Also, if there's some bands that I don't know/don't like who want to drop off, that's completely fine with me. Stretch those set times out a little bit for everyone else! haha
I would imagine the acts on this were not told exactly how many bands were playing this and that the "smaller" acts would be getting reduced set times. I would imagine for some acts traveling to Vegas to play for 20 minutes is just not worth it. Just a guess though.
1000000% COVID. This event will go ahead even if it’s just 5 or 6 bands in the end. Vegas has been relatively lax with things (while handling them as good as they can)
I wonder if there will be any bands that aren't on this that will try to do a Friday night show in Vegas. Even if it's not affiliated with this fest officially, I bet someone like NFG could sell tickets like hot cakes on the Friday before.
A set of four bands on this lineup are trying to book a tour around the festival date now which is cool. I think we’re gonna see a lot of cooler intimate shows come out of this which will probably excite a lot more people.
