To follow up on my Frank story and not to get into too many details, I talked a little business with him and got hooked up with My Chem management team. Let’s see if I can score backstage today.
I figured out a way to get in but it's dicey... wouldn't do this but trying not to spend my rent money on a ticket if preferable. wish me luck y'all also my flight there was delayed to arrive at 9:55a... cutting it close.
At the last minute while I was preparing to sneak through the staff entrance in disguise (I’ve worked a bunch of festivals so know how it goes) someone sent me their spare ticket. I owe him a beer and unfortunately have just $9 today but hopefully he’ll be okay with me making it up to him this week My life is strange lol
Towards a couple hours into the day you could 100% get in with a ticket that isn’t valid. There’s re-entry but their system for it is shit. They gave me a wristband but never checked it. Scanned my ticket upon re-entry and it came up as invalid because it was scanned at open when I went in and the gate people did not give any shit whatsoever and said just go in.
There’s double re-entry “limit” too, so if you truly wanted to abuse it, you and all your friends leave once to get the wrist bands. Go back in. Then have them all take off the wristbands, one person leave again, send pdf of used tickets to people who need to get in, and give them the wristbands. Act like re-entering. I spend way too much time thinking of ways to abuse rules lmao.
Did they happen to mention a time frame for the single or new album? All they said last weekend was “2023”.
Not an attendee (just an avid BLG fan), and I saw some footage from other tour dates they did this fall where Martin says "early next year/spring."
I really loved BLG's set. I totally forgot just how many of their songs off their self-titled album were absolute bangers.. haven't listened in yeaaaaars
Boys Like Girls and The Used were the best sets so far. The Used had the cutest crowd Silverstein was so fun We the Kings started late and didn’t open with Skyway Avenue, ended up missing them. The Maine was super disappointing, vibes were off but they played Everything I Ask For which is… everything I asked for hoping to see Bright Eyes from the pit
idk but it probably just adds to the ambience I’ve never seen them and I love ‘em also if you need to get in the pit and don't want to wait for two hours draw an X with sharpie on the white part of your wristband and sneak in through the black tent gap by the bathrooms to the left of black stage
Bright Eyes were so good when I saw them a few months back, Conor rambled between songs but he sounded as good as on record during the songs
Bright Eyes were amazing but no one was into them I’m so sad I missed an attempt to tip the scales and jejune stars last week, my two favorite BE songs, but they did play a calendar hung itself
Unfortunately this makes sense, they're just slightly outside the genre of the festival that they kinda stick out on their own
