Semi-related, but my friends at A Few Good Records put out this compilation of artists covering bands on the When We Were Young lineup. It was announced literally 24 hours ago and it just came out. I covered Clairvoyant by The Story So Far!
Also if you want merch expect to spend an hour in line. It's wild. My wife came just to come and didn't care for most of the bands so she was the merch mule lol.
I agree. That was a solid stage all day Yea, he was a mess. Sounded drunk and/or miserable? My verdict overall? Great fest and totally not a scam! Pros -saw about 12 sets that were all good or better. -plenty of food and drinks -wide open areas to catch your breath when you got away from the stages with good shade and some seating. -adding that the bathroom situation was good. Plenty of options (at least for men, there was an outdoor urinal area. Cons: - people are animals and trashed the place early. So much crap underfoot (plates, cans, cups). - main stages were as expected, nuts. I got a little paranoid during bmth, just no room, a few almost fights, and someone was sick and they stopped the set, so i got out before paramore. -Stripe and checkers didnt get too too crowded for music, neither did Neon but moving about got cumbersome as the day went on. Ill be interested to read how MCR was. I just couldnt do it. -cold. Dipped down big time. I had a flannel, but shorts. Obviously no ones fault. Just a fact from how i felt. -a few minor sound issues with some speakers cutting in and out. Volume seemed inconsistent at times to. Edit: theres a GA pit in front of the baricade. Probably fills up EARLY. Anyone who hung out there? I saw Saosin there and assumed itd be too full all day. Took a minute to find the line.
When I got there around 11, there was a huge line across from circus circus. If you see that next week, ignore it and just keep going to the front gate entrance. Not sure why people were in that line. Also when you first get in, there's a lot of food and beer stalls but just keep moving into the grounds because they are everywhere and the ones when you first get in will have huge lines because it's the first thing people see.
Conor kinda has been.Their recent tour got a lot of fans arguing about whether to be concerned for Conor. He had obv been drinking at my show on their tour and sang some of the wrong lyrics and his voice started getting real rough towards the end but it was still a good show. But it seemed like people's mileage varied and he just walked off stage at one of the shows and never came back. Hope he's well.
Seconding the skip the line post. I walked to the front because I had a question about my backpack that I wanted answered before I spent an hour in line, but when I got there it had just kinda devolved into people walking in. Still don’t know how or why a line even formed
Fun first fest. Sound was iffy at the Main Stages but seemed to clear up around A Day to Remember. Couple of bottleneck issues with the crowd moving around the site but not too bad. Needs additional merch space for next year. The lines were long all day until we skipped the first few songs of MCR. Plenty of hydration stations and the lines were never long.
That ruled we were so dumb to start thinking it was vip in front of both stages because of the barricade but once we worked out we could just go around to the GA pit entrance it was totally fine. I think a lot of people assumed they couldn’t go further forward because of the barrier. We had a ton of room for all the headline acts Bright Eyes sucked ass
