    @Kennedy

It can't be easy for a band so early in their career to feel the awful spectre of "how can they follow this up" as Gang of Youths must. Their debut The Positions was better than any Australian rock record in 2015 had any right to be, coming across like the tragic subject matter of the Antlers' Hospice told with the self-deprecating, brutally honest writing of Matthew Berninger or Jerry Jones. Gang of Youths exploded the scene with David Le'aupepe's autobiographical lyricism and their twisting of raucous rock-and-roll into six-to-seven minute mammoths which don't crescendo so much as erupt, spewing forth buzzsaw guitar lines and Le'aupepe's impassioned yelps.

You'd think that it would be difficult to get into a fight with your spouse/significant other when you're both at work, but apparently that's not the case today...

My wife read some article today about child trafficking and now she's on the warpath about what we share on social media, who we're connected to, etc.

I'm pushing back a bit - she has her "online friends" that she's never personally met (baby groups, cooking groups, etc.) and I have mine (a lot of you in here) but she's being a bit unreasonable I think. I mean, of course I want my children to be safe (who wouldn't) but she has quite the double standard here.

Find a nice compromise with her. Maybe make your posts only available to friends(not public posts)?

Either way, just make sure she knows you respect her opinion, but also show the value of posting the pictures, and why it brings you enjoyment

How do you tell someone you love that they're going to die" That's a question The Positions had to pose, and it did so brutally and with little fanfare, corkscrew guitars spewing forth Dave Le'aupepe's venomous indictments of, well pretty much everything. That is, including the sun: the sun which shone down the UV radiation which damaged the genetic material of the cells which led to his ex-girlfriend's cancer diagnosis. How do you convince yourself that you're going to live" Go Farther in Lightness is tasked with answering this question, or at least with finding a convincing way to ask it, and it sets out to do so with reckless abandon. The guitars chime out with clarity and optimism, full-blown orchestras follow behind Dave at every step as he paces to and forth from the recording studio on muggy Sydney nights, and his voice reaches further and further into the higher reaches of his range like he's searching for God in vocal melodies alone. That album title is void of hyperbole or unwarranted sentimentality; it's the bare truth, shivering and sore and bloody, but ready to stand up and start fighting for the strength to take those first steps forward.

@Kennedy @Dog with a Blog ok I'm done doing this now I promise.

I already have my posts only available to friends! She keeps saying that we should look at our friends lists again. And I told her that I'm comfortable with every single person that I'm friends with on Facebook and that while I haven't met all of them in person (and she hasn't met all of her friends in person either) none of them are strangers and that I'm better friends with a lot of the people that I've never met than people I haven't seen since high school!

Then she responded and said "Ok we can discuss later" and when I asked what else there was to discuss she said "I mean look at our lists later" At that point, we pretty much had the same discussion where I told her that I don't accept random requests and there's no need for me to waste time reviewing my list. Then I asked her "I guess I don't get it...are you saying you look at MINE and I look at YOURS???" With the multiple question marks and the all caps I think she could tell I was getting angry.

All in all, it's a pretty dumb argument.

yeah this sucks. I hate fighting-especially over text.

I agree that people with kids need to be careful not only about child trafficking but I think the far more likely threat and risk is identity theft of our kids. we don't share too much online mainly for those reasons.

you guys are all my online friends and I've still never told any of you my middle or last names or any pictures of me haha. I'm a pretty private online person, at least when it comes to identification.

I've really been enjoying rediscovering it lately. That's the best thing about Radiohead and why they are such a special band. Their music is timeless which to your point @ComedownMachine this album could of been released 20 years ago yet it would still sound just as fresh today just like The Bends, Ok Computer, Kid A and the rest does.

    Haha very quick recall there!

Really, I'm just being honest with her here. If I was the type of person that had 4,000 Facebook friends and accepted every request I got, I would understand her point. But I'm not.

I basically told her that I know that the two of us both have our childrens' best interests in mind, but that we can't live our lives in constant fear. We need to be smart and vigilant, but we also need to live our lives too. (I thought I was rather poetic but maybe it didn't translate so well over texts)

    what she heard:

"I have online "friends" and I like chatting to random people online. I don't know who they are or if they are bad so *shrug emoji*"
