Sorry about that - I just got a text about 45 minutes ago where I got the news and I'm still a bit numb to it

  2. all of these thoughts go through my head almost daily, haha. i always (jokingly?) tell my girlfriend to "put me down" when i'm 40. she doesn't think it's funny. shrug.

I wish I was still fully a Christian.. believing in an afterlife made it easier to think about.. since I’ve sort of lost my faith... I think there’s a higher power but no idea what form that would be in.. sometimes I still think I’m in a computer simulation ha

Yeah I've gone from being a Jehovah's Witness in my youth to being a cynically functional agnostic/atheist, and I don't think there's any higher power waiting for me aside from the universe dispersing my atoms into other biological forms

Which overall I'm pretty fine with

I was raised in a baptist family.. even moved around the country because my dad was a full time southern-gospel singer..

When I was 18 I tried LSD for the first time and well.... it kind of shattered everything for me in that regard.

I wish I was still in that blissful happiness sometimes.

Yeah I have no idea what will happen after I die and I'll leave it at that.

  16. I think I'd be more at peace if we knew what happens after we die

I don't want it all to be meaningless in the end and just become nothing

This is my post from last year from the death thread that sums up my feelings pretty well.

This thread is way too heavy to read first thing in the morning. I think about these things a lot myself especially the more i get older. But i also try not to get wrapped up in it too much but its hard not to sometimes.

@bachna84 sorry to hear about your loss. We're all here for you buddy.

  20. I've been worried about all of this since I was a kid, to be honest

The pain is mostly my thing. I'm fine with one day dying of old age, in fact I'll probably be ready for it. I just hope at that point I haven't had most of my intestines removed due to cancer, or been wheelchair bound for 20 years previous due to arthritis, or been randomly taken hostage and then tortured and stabbed to death.

Stabbed might just be the worst. If I don't get stabbed to death with puncture wounds all through my vital organs, I think I'll be OK.

Death is just the trade off price for getting to be alive and experience friendship and love and orgasms
