Any good record store day releases this year?

 

No Sleep is putting out Touche Amore's self-titled demo on 12", with 2 extra tracks and an etched b-side. I already have the 7" version, and I hate standing in line for RSD, but I might try to get it somehow.

 

That sucks, sorry to hear it.

Everything I work on seems to be a sprint, so I'm just used to the hectic pace.

 

do you guys do "agile" bullshit?

 

I'm not that deep into the details of the software development, but I'm pretty sure we do. I know I've heard the term "scrum" thrown around quite often.

 

I've been to M-Theory most often in SD. But I usually just buy stuff online because (in my experience) SD record stores don't have the stuff I want or it's super expensive. Where do you go?

I just realized I haven't actually been in San Diego for RSD. I started collecting in college (in Santa Cruz). Tbh if I decide to go I'll probably be in LA, which means I'll probably go all out and go to Amoeba, then that way it's like an adventure lol.

I don't mind the scrum meetings, that's fine, other than it wastes half an hour per day.

the sprint thing where its like heres your tasks for this 3 weeks period, put your estimates in how long these 10 things will take, but they can't take longer than 3 weeks so your estimate is kind of pointless.


I don't know. I'm new to this team and they've been working on it since the beginning of the year, so I just have to deal. I just don't know how to tell them that I'm not able to commit to this much work without even seeing the code or having any experience with this projects technology stack.

I've been to Record City too, and yeah it's just okay, same with M-Theory honestly.

I've also been trying to go to more shows for bands I want to buy records from, so then it's just going (mostly) straight to them. Recently I've done that with Phoebe Bridgers, Manchester Orchestra, TWIABP, and Phoebe Bridgers

 

The only reason I care about RSD now is the sales

 

Does anybody here use Word 2016 for Mac? I'm trying to figure out something and am having no luck.

 

I use 2016 for windows. what are you trying to do?

 

I use the "Compare Documents" feature a lot. In the 2011 version I could adjust which set of documents are shown there, either a list of recent documents (default and not preferred) or only the documents I currently have open, which is what I'd prefer. I can't figure out whether or how I can adjust that.

 

Oh. I've never used that feature on word. I usually use notepad++ for that. or just compare built into the IDE that Im working in since I don't have lots of word doc assignments.


I didn't even know word had that feature.

 

it does look like if you have 2 documents open and you click on "view side by side" under the view tab it does what you are asking for

 

Thanks for offering to help, anyway! It's not a huge deal, it just slows me down a bit. Instead of having 2 options to choose from, I have 25 on each side. And sometimes my recent documents are all or mostly different versions of the same document, with only slightly different file names, so there's a risk of picking the wrong ones.

 

I don’t get why programs like Microsoft word change so much over the years in terms of layout, it doesn’t get any better. Don’t try and fix what ain’t broken.

 

Yeah, but that doesn't highlight the differences between the 2 documents, like the Compare Documents feature does.

 

Or at least provide useful help articles that explain what all the differences are.

 

they have gotten better in some ways for sure. but I agree with dumb formatting/layout changes.

I think it's more of "creating work" where they come up with changes that will create work for developers even if the changes are meaningless to the consumer.
