Skeletons Review

Bring You Back - weirdly poppy and sounds too happy considering it's about somebody killed themselves. Not bad though, just a little weird

Nervous Breakdown - Don't like his voice at the beginning of this one at all. Once the chorus comes in it's a little better though. I do like the music and the sound of it, I Think I don't care for his voice too much though. I don't mind it as much when he sings in the lower voice though.

End of the Underground - this one is a lot better starting off. It's not bad. Catchy chorus. again dont like his voice in that higher register.

Drive - this one for some reason and I'm sorry for saying it, but it reminded me of that terrible nickleback disco song for the first 10 seconds after that it doesn't sound like it at all though which makes it 10000x better. GIVE ME MORE OF THE LOWER VOCALS PLEASE! Ok song, but vocals are not my favorite since it's all in the higher register.

Gravestones - Like this one. Acoustic guitar and his voice is much better in this one. Would have liked it better if they had done the whole song in that style. The chorus is fine, I think this is my favorite so far mainly for the acoustic guitar. Don't do fade outs!

Broken Man- This one was good didn't need the flatline at the end though. Felt a little corny to me.

Last Few Words- wasn't feeling this one at all. Didn't care for the music either.

Abandoned Driveways - This one is much better than the last one. His voice sounds better in this one, or I'm getting used to it. Haha. Interesting lyrics in this one.

Picket Fences - Obligatory slow song. Not my thing.

Here I Am - Not bad. I don't know about this one, sounds like somebody else that I can't figure out.

Hollywood & Vine - Sounds more like the first song very bouncy. Catchy poppy rock song.

Unforgivable - one of the better songs on here. The vocals are not as loud in this song as others I think.

Boy - His higher voice is just not for me. I just don't like it very much. Sounds like a good song though. I'm usually more of a fan of closing an album with a bang though, not as much with a song like this.


Overall I would say the album was better than people give credit for because they are easy targets. The only real negative I had was the vocals, just not a fan of his voice sometimes. The music was good (except for Last Few Words).

Nice write up. Only thing I’d point out is Bring You Back isn’t about suicide, it’s about his mother being terminally ill while he was on tour
