I was hoping this solo project of mine was going to turn out real expirimental but it’s kind of just turning out to be sad haha

Haha, no kind of just sad and dark.

The concept I’m writing about has been in my mind for a while now. Couple of the songs I’ve been working on for a long time (years)... crows are a huge theme in the writing. I worry people will think I’m trying to rip off Mount Eerie by writing about crows but I had started the theme so long ago I can’t then back haha

 

My band has some jams but if your read the lyrics they’re not “happy” lol... kind of like JEW. They have some upbeat songs, but no happy songs

 

I agree for the most part. There's only a few things I like with it

Nah, i truthfully thought of the concept without even thinking about Mt.Eerie then I was like “oh shoot Phil’s kinda got that crow thing going rn”, but oh well haha

Edit: like the one song that kinda birthed the concept is called Bird Shooting and I wrote it 5 years ago lol

Sleepy random wtf convo of the night:
Talking to Britt about how if i ever told her ill go out and get dinner for us and come back dragging a whole adult giraffe i DDT'd to death.

Her response:
"if you did thar regardless of how old our child is you need to look them in the face and say "Beat that lil shit, I DDT'd a giraffe"
"I couldnt complain for a year.... "JOSH DID YOU TAKE OUT THE TRASH/CHEAT ON ME!?" and you reply with 'BITCH I DDT'd A GIRAFFE SHUT UP'"

My second youngest a couple of months ago woke up in the middle of the night. We thought we heard his door open but we didn't hear him after. No bathroom visit and he didn't ask for us or open our door. We both kind of forgot about it and I got up to go the bathroom like 20 minutes later and he was right outside our door with his blanket covering his face. It took me a good 5 minutes for my heart to calm down. It was like something out of a horror movie
