All music sucks

 

I was actually supposed to go to 2 dates on that tour as well but didnt end up going to the second date which was in Winnipeg haha

 

I’m speaking in directing it towards someone’s opinions of something. I hope people would have the respect to value differing opinions of something. I’m aware we all have different tastes and that’s what allows us to share great music.

 

i want to make myself a little bit clearer. Yeah, like today some new Hawthorne song is comes out or something, and people are giving their opinions on it. totally makes sense. we dont need to censor our reactions just because someone loves them.


what i was more referring to is the simple fact that Kevo gets a hard time about stuff he listens to more regularly than probably anyone else. does that mean when we're actually having discussions about those bands you need to pretend you like them? No, im not really talking about those situations. But i do think that generally speaking, we can give Kevo a less hard time about the things he likes. and a lot of this is directed to me hah.

I’m pretty late to this but I just wanna say this kinda bugs me too. Obviously people’s tastes have diverged and diversified since the scene heyday but based on other threads and whatnot it appears that on some level we all had very very similar tastes at some point. A lot of those bands are of course still active and have developed their niche audiences, but tbh I’ve always assumed this community is what it is because we have very strong overlap in tastes, at least relative to the rest of the music world. The fact that people in this thread have heard of all of julien Baker, pianos become the Teeth, and Hawthorne heights tells me we’re way more similar than different.
Hope neither of you took anything negative away from me quoting, I just used those to highlight themes I see come up in the thread and it’s something you see in other threads too; I don’t take issue with any specific comment.
