I'm not saying they're carbon copies by any means. I'm saying that there are songs (mostly on Point #1) where Pete is trying (probably a little too hard) to channel his inner Maynard.

I don't know I like Chevelle and LOVE Tool and I think both of them have pretty distinct voices. If I hear a song by either singer I've never heard before on the radio, I know it's them

yes. it also is apparent on La Gargola somewhat. from my listening last night I was say track 1 and track 3 the most.

Track 1 is an absolute yes. The rest of the record, no. I think you based that all on "Ouija Board"

Chevelle has released 5 albums since the most recent Tool release.

That's an awesome set! My favorite time seeing them isn't on setlist.fm but it was a tour for This Type of Thinking. Opened with Still Running and ended with the Clincher. Is there anything better than that?

    track 1 has vocal similaries
track 3 has more musical/rhythmic/stylistic similarties to me

Thrice broke up, got back together, released a come back album, toured for a few years and about to write a new album in that time too.

@littlejohn you literally said it's Tool covers that aren't actual Tool songs. That is DEFINITELY saying they're carbon copies in that post

these are the 2 times I remember seeing chevelle. I thought I saw them with Breaking Benjamin once but can't be sure because I can't find a tour that makes sense that went to el paso.

I’ve never even heard of chevel and I don’t much like tool.

I’m just happy to be here!

@ComedownMachine 's mom was 5 years younger than I currently am when the last Tool album was released

no I'm saying that they wrote songs that sound highly influenced by tool to the point where I would say at least a handful could pass as tool writing them.

again, THIS IS HIGH PRAISE FROM ME.
