That is a curious thing to think about

What was everyone’s first purchased CD?

Mine was blink-182 Self Titled, of course. But that was with birthday money. My first “buying this from my paycheck hard work” cd was Taking Back Sunday-‘Where You Want To Be’ and Hawthorne Heights-‘The Silence In Black And White’ bought at the same time.

You bought your first CD when you were 16?! That's wild

My first CD I bought was Goo Goo Dolls- Dizzy Up The Girl. The next day I followed that with Third Eye Blind- S/T and Matchbox Twenty- Yourself Or Someone Like You.

Still 3 of my favorite records

I didn't start buying my own shit until I got a job. So when I was 15 I think? I was listening to a lot of OI punk at the time. First disc was probably How to clean everything or and out come the wolves.

Yeaaaah. I mean I HAD CDs before that. But they were bought for me by my older brother. Weird Al, Tupac, Nitorious BIG, Bone thugs, Eminem, and Nas are the ones I remember owning an album or two from each.

But the ones I mentioned were my first albums that I paid for at the counter physically.

we are nothing more than mannequins Prestigious

My first cd was Slowly Going the Way of the Buffalo by MxPx in 1998 at the age of 14.

Prior to that I had cassettes. The first one that I can recall buying with my own money was self-titled Third Eye Blind in 1997. Prior to that I just recorded stuff off the radio (like the nightly top 10 countdown on the local rock/alternative station) and from time to time I'd toss on one of my dad's cassettes (Metallica's Load was a favorite of 12 year old me)

And I'm going to leave this opinion here, but in spoilers so people don't freak out too much...

    MxPx > Blink-182

    Currently playing this

The new album from Wolverhampton, UK's Dearist, "Sonder," is out now! Churning guitars, quickened tempos, and crashing cymbals collide with hazy leads, fuzzed out vocals, and expansive hooks. One minute, you'll find nods to 90's alternative bands like Oasis and Stereophonics and the next, you’ll hear influence from 2000's emo bands like Thursday, Taking Back Sunday, and Bayside. Experience the album now on limited edition vinyl and at digital outlets worldwide!

    • Purchase / stream: Dearist - Sonder

  18. And I think I only started buying vinyl two years ago? I want more albums but it's very expensive here. Luckily, my dad's collection is awesome
