Waco!

 

It was a six part miniseries on Freeform (I think formerly Spike) starring Taylor Kitsch, Michael Shannon, Rory Culkin, John Leguizamo, Shea Whigham, and Julia Garner (probably better known for Ozark)

We both really liked it a lot! I’d recommend :)

I listen to this podcast called Cults and there’s a couple episodes about Waco/The Branch Davidians that were interesting.

I guess A&E had a recent special on Jonestown which I’m super interested in. Hard to believe that anything like Waco or Jonestown could ever happen :(

Also, The Handmaid’s Tale on Hulu is very good if you like dystopian tales (I do)

 

The OA (on Netflix) is another interesting (but kind of weird) show.

I will have to look into the Jonestown special. Anytime my husband and I watch something about Waco or Jonestown, I get this feeling of how could this even happen? I think it's fascinating and completely heartbreaking at the same time.

Related to Jonestown, there was this movie that came out a few years ago called The Sacrament that’s heavily based on it. It’s a fictional found-footage film but I liked it.
