The BN vibes are crazy strong, but I don’t hear the others. I don’t mean to bash it, i do like, but immediate aoty contenders like this one is being billed as are usually quite unique, and this sounds like it could’ve come out in 2008.

Album art is eoty-worthy though :P

how many times did you make it through? theres a lot of really unique stuff thats sort of buried. An example.. the post chorus of ore which goes from 10/4 to 11/4 to 12/4 to 13/4.. then does a 5/4 outro. the end of the canyon is in 7/4, There are very strategically placed lead guitar notes that really do it for me as well, just like really bendy type things that rub against the chords a certain way that really do it for me. I mean I totally get that on the surface this basically exists in the space inbetween TDAG and Daisy.. but I think when you look into the lyrics and dig deeper its a lot more. Just my thought and me going to bat for a record thats moved me in a way in a way that I didn't know music could anymore. I get super excited over a ton of releases but this one has done something different to me, i've absolutely loved diving into the lyrics, I think they are very good as well. Anyway, youre free not to like it I'm just stating why I like it I guess haha! :)

I admittedly only listened more passively so far, and I like it enough that I’d revisit it anyway, but yea I’ve gotta give it more attentive listens too.
I hope it catches on more bc I’m really glad an album like this (what I perceived as just being softer, fuzzy post hardcore) still has reach.

The lyrics are really what clinched it for me. The excellent production certainly has a lot to do with it as well. There is so much going on in every single song. It gets better with every listen imo.

Man, this deserves a lossless version and it's sad one will never be released. Tilian can write some killer hooks.

i've always a had a soft spot for blessthefall but the new one is largely a snooze fest. sleepless in phoenix is a top tier track though

I haven't really seen anything about the new album except someone's write-up in CMCS. They're a band that I've always listened to their new releases but I would consider myself a very casual fan.

i would guess i like blessthefall more than the average user here (His Last Walk is an all-timer for me) but they've dropped with each release, its actually kinda remarkable. still usually find a few songs i really like though.

also, beau sounds incredibly bored on the new one.
