    Your bachelors won't earn
Half the debt that you've incurred
    So go call student loans

    MEWITHOUTYOU

    Listening Extravaganza Finale

    PALE HORSES

    Pale Horse

The intro of this song was actually very somber and kind of cool, I dig this. I also like the distorting effect of his voice on this one. A very slow and somber start to this album, and it was a pretty good way to set the tone. Great intro! It was a very moody song, and kind of restrained for these guys. Also sounds like its a bit more developed.

    Watermelon Ascot
Well, this song sure kicks right out of the gate. This is a bit of a faster paced song, and the distorted vocals return. It works well in this song, and theres a bit of structure to this song. I also really like the switch up in the middle of the song that just takes the guitars to this little strumming, the song just evolves mid sequence, and its pretty great. 2/2 so far with this; I am digging the sound of this album so far.

    D-Minor
Continuing the aggression of Watermelon and amping it up, this song is a bit of a dark and gloomy heavy shredder. The vocals on this song are the main focus, and they carry the song for me IMO. Its more of the spoken poem singing really, but I dig it here because of how well it works with the music in this song. The lyrics in this song also carry a sense of untold dread and it helps to sell this song. This may be my favorite track on the album so far from what I have heard, but that's subject to change.

    Mexican War Streets
Not too bad, but after the last three songs this one did not stand out to me as much. Not saying its back, Quite the contrary; this song lets loose with aggressive vocals after the 1:30 mark and I liked it quite a bit. And If I heard right, he mentioned the Ohio River, so I am already on board. I'd put this above Pale Horse, but below Watermelon and D-Minor. The back half of the song is the better half.

    Red Cow
I wasn't digging this song really until after the minute mark when the song just became super heavy and the vocals began to differentiate themselves. This one switches back and forth between their more aggressive style; but one thing I will say about the album as a whole and something I realized on this song is that mewithoutyou seems to have dropped the weird craziness of some of their past albums, this is the most 'rock' sounding album of theirs so far, at least up until this song. The last minute of this song shows some impressive guitar shredding too, its actually really impressive! Good song.

    Dorothy
This song didn't do anything for me, sorry. It was just kind of there...and then bam it was over. Not much to say about it either.

    Blue Hen
Now that is a shredding guitar intro! This song is pretty dang groovy and sick, I like restrained guitars of the verses, and then the shredding of the choruses. I actually really like the vocals in this song too. This song has many pieces to it, and tis great. Theres some soft parts, some harder parts, its almost like a little journey contained within this one song. The lyrics are pretty dang good, and the they are just as imaginative as ever. This takes the title for favorite track back from D-Minor by a hair. The end of the song is boss.

    Lilac Queen
This song is actually a bit more restrained at the start, and starts off kind of dreary actually. The cool thing about this song though, aside from its dark horror like lyrics, is that is slowly escalates. It starts off really slow, and as the song progresses and their story continues; it just gets more and more intense. Good track, and I love the shred guitar at the end.

    Magic Lantern Days
Sadly didn't care much for this song either; maybe its coming down from the hype of the last two as this song is a bit more flat in its tone. Its not terrible, but it wasn't something I raced to hit repeat on after either.

    Birnam Wood
This is a cool little song. It has a very cool guitar lick, and the lyrics are actually pretty intense and dark from what I could catch. This song is actually quite beautiful in its sound, and structurally its great. Its a nice book end to the album before the closing track in my opinion, and hopefully one that isn't better than the closing act, which it could be the case with how nice this song was. This song got my head bobbing a little bit. Good song.

    Rainbow Signs
I am happy to report that after Birnam Wood, this song was not a lackluster closer. Both songs could have closed an album, but this song is just so slow and reserved, it does this cool creepy epilogue esque atmosphere to the album especially with the plucked guitars and distorted fainted vocals in the middle of the song...and then BOOM the second half of this song just explodes and is one of the most intense moments of the albums. This was damn good for a closer, going from soft, to explosive, and then going out with a whisper and not a bang for the final moments of the song. Niiiice.

    CONCLUSION
I liked this one! This may be my favorite of their albums so far, and I think that's because its the most rock oriented of their albums, and this one had more of a vision. The previous albums at time seemed downright bizarre and unsure of where they were going sometimes; but this one and the one prior seemed like they had a sound in mind that they wanted and they went for it. Good album, and I am glad I listened to it.

    MeWithoutYou Listening Conclusion
Well this was sure something, this was not a band I would have sought out on my own. It was a cool ride to see them through their discography and experience their ever changing and sometimes downright bizarre sounds. The positive I will say, is that I did actually like them and I will probably be returning to quite a few of these albums that I have listened to in this. The downside, I hate to say, is at this point in time I don't think they'll be making my list of favorite bands. I don't know if its the spoken singing through almost every song or what, but there was just something holding me back from 'loving' this band. I sure as shit 'like' the band, they're enjoyable as can be. So, after experiencing all of their albums I think its safe to say that I dig them, but I am not a 'fan'. If that makes sense. In the moments of the albums, there were moments I was like "Hell Yes!", and I am grateful for @bachna84 for those moments. Thanks again!

Over and over, you keep singing the same old song. I used to be stronger, the silence is longer. Now I'm the bitter one. I've made mistakes, and Ill take it all back.
