that tidbit was the most surprising part of the article to me. you have to look at the leadership in this case i feel ... it seems like a situation where everyone was acting like it was all good and carrying on business as usual but at some point they sat down and had the conversation that should have happened way earlier. it almost seems like the money side of things got run down and someone didn't even realize it until it was too late. you would think that if they were projecting things out to a further degree, there could have been efforts to keep the ship righted in some way -- i.e. maybe partial layoffs or business restructuring -- rather than completely blowing it up.
