This is an aggressively late 00s indie rock/pop album. Half of these songs could have been on the Scott Pilgrim soundtrack. They’re lucky they are around now instead of then, so it stands out a bit more
FYI, Buffalo 66 is streaming on Tubi if anyone wants to call out the seemingly super random 1998 film they call out in “Wet Dream”.
Yeah, this is a lot of fun. Definitely fits in that mid-to-late 2000s indie sound, which is fine by me. If we can dust off 2000s pop punk, this deserves to get a resurgence too. It's great to have "Chaise Longue" break up the monotony on alt-rock radio of Imagine Dragons, Machine Gun Kelly and the same five songs from the early '90s. I hope they make a push for "Wet Dream" in the summer. Could see that being huge.
this is nothing like what I was expecting based on how it was described to me hahah but it rules getting some Alvvays vibes here and there
Yeah this and the new Pup albums have basically been all I’ve listened to the last few days and that’s definitely ok. Now I just need summer weather to get here to complete the vibe.
I’m obsessed with this album but also just absolutely adore “the scream” in “Ur Mom”. I think part of my love of it is that it’s a great scream but the sound levels on it are great so it’s not something that suddenly deafens you and makes you scrambling to lower the volume.
This a fun record. Nothing particularly new or interesting but a good summer album. Also so cool that they are from the Isle of Wight.
This is so much fun. Much needed energy in the fuzzy power-pop sector. Would love to see them tour with Sorry.
I’m not sure how I feel about this band. Most of it is a little too cheeky for my tastes but “Too Late Now” is perfect.
