Also, what the hell do guests find miles out of town? In Sweetwater there's a town wide massacre and constant orgies, what could they possibly find that's way worse the further you go out?

 

Well the town massacre was a one-off event

 

That is true, but there are still gunfights and whatnot. They had that milk bandit, granted he went off the rails and did more than he was supposed to, but he was still a regular narrative in town that was homicidal and routinely killed other hosts.

this reads just like them bullshitting a reason to put in the basic ass 90's songs that they like, they aren't even played in an "old timey fashion" it's just on the piano? they could of at least made them in the style of saloon music, they get a C for effort.

I'm fine with them using the player piano that way, maybe even fine using contemporary music, it's just the song choice that has me shaking my damn head. If they play "Where Is My Mind?" in the finale.... I don't even know...

 

I guess it really doesn't bother anyone else but me, but if they're going to say it's "seemingly 21st century" suggesting a different reality I find it HIGHLY unlikely Radiohead and Soundgarden exist.

If it's an alternate reality there are literally dozens of plausible explanations for the presence of music from our world, it's also totally trivial and not worth thinking about beyond thematic connections

my co-worker was saying he noticed differences between the Morpheous-type dude in different scenes of the episode, what he was wearing, how he was acting. Has the theory that there may be multiples of him made
