I felt like that trailer conned me. I was thinking "What's this cool sci fi show with Aaron Paul in it?" Then the look of horror on my face with the Westworld logo at the end.
Looks like more dumb/silly, (potential) fun that I’ll probably watch and be a little frustrated with Seems to be becoming the HBO way. Hoping for a little better with some of the cool newer stuff they’ve got coming out over the next year
I'm starting to wonder if there are any show threads in which people participate because they actually like the shows. Most of the time it feels like oh is this show pretty popular? Let me let the thread know I think it's shit, that'll be all. I don't need a list of fav show responses, I already know Barry is fucking amazing and the only thread where the people discussing the show actually like/watch the show.
Insert George Bluth saying, “How many times I gotta tell this kid chicken wings?” only it’s The Americans instead.
You can be critical while still liking a show. That being said, too much of these threads is filled with the being critical part. Westworld is one of those shows where I'm completely on board despite its evident flaws. Not a lot of shows have affected me this strongly emotionally.
It just seems like some people miss out on the purpose or enjoyment aspect of a show because they watch with a microscope. I have too, and this show isn’t flawless (none are) but yeah, a few moments of iffy dialogue doesn’t kill a show for me.
this show sucks but the trailer is fine, maybe i’ll like this season. seems like they’re scaling back out of their own ass which will be good.
