I’m genuinely interested, but I figure I’m gonna binge on it so I have waited until I have ample time.
Going through the show a second time (currently on episode 5) and man, this show takes it's damn time setting everything up. I understand they have a (literal) world to build but the minutia moves at a glacial pace. It doesn't help that the first time I watched it in a matter of days and my girlfiend and I watch an episode every 4 or 5 days. I hope season two hits the ground running.
THIS. I luckily binged the first season in 2 or 3 days total so it wasn't as slow moving for me. But I recall posting on this very thread after I was finished saying it would have been difficult to wait week to week between each episode with how long it took to really get going.
I was super into it for the first 2 or 3 episodes, but it felt like it took FOREVER to get to the last 1 or 2 episodes. Also, taking modern-ish music and slowing it down on pianos and violins and whatnot has really worn out its' welcome. It makes me cringe now. And it's distracting.
For anyone that likes recaps like me, here's a fun S1 recap done by Jimmi Simpson. I had to play it at 0.75x speed ha.
S1 reviewed well too and people still found ways to hate it. So while the positive reviews are cool to see, I'm also sure the backlash will restart without missing a beat after the premiere this weekend. I'm pretty much staying away from all the hot takes and weekly recaps this time around though, so I can just focus on how much I enjoy the show without all the noise.
Also, this is the best recap I've seen so far: Even though Spencer somehow forgets why Maeve went back into the park at the end of the finale.
Just watched through the first season for the first time. So glad I waited on doing this until now because I absolutely loved it. Can’t wait for Sunday!
Season one is kinda tiring to get through on a rewatch. I enjoy a lot of it but most of the storytelling is dependent on revealing twists at the end of the season
I remember almost giving up until the end up ep 4...it def gets better after a lot of heavy exposition and wading
it's, no hyperbole, entirely tiring lol. that being said, i'm excited for tonight. hopefully buying into the "season one is a prologue" speculation
Like I said at the end of the last season, I get that the stakes are too high right now for such a minimal plot point, but I would have loved to have seen what happened to him and those ghost people
