It's an interesting theory and article. However, if the William/Logan/Dolores storyline takes place 30 years ago, then shouldn't the hosts be very obvious? We've seen the old hosts before, and it's quite easy to spot them because they are clearly AI.
Well the super early ones were yes but this would have been 4 years into the park enough time to fix some of the bugs but not all. Like in the current timeline bullets don't seem to hurt the guests in Williams timeline they do
Yeah, maybe. But still, so only after 4 years the upgrade was that vast? And the hosts have been/looked the same for the last 30 years? Guess we will see.
Maybe I just haven't been paying close enough attention, but I don't see any reason to think that it's happening in two timelines. The hosts are clearly having the same problems in the William story as they are in the rest of the show, with Delores having memories and changing her loop. Where is it implied in that story that Arnold died recently?
check out the link that teebs posted above, and if you want to get crazy check out reddit haha. but you shouldn't, its a black hole in there. There's a fair amount of little clues that people are picking up on for sure
Eh, still some pretty big holes in the theory, mainly the fact that Dolores has a vision of the man in black when she's fighting off that guy who tries to rape her in the barn. Right after that she leaves and meets up with William. We'll see where things go tho.
the theory that contradicts that is that there is a convergence between the two timelines. this is most notably seen during the scene this week where delores sees herself in pariah and then faints. if delores is seeing the man who she shoots in the timeline 30 years ago and it's converging with herself being in the same place 30 years later with the man in black, that's why the visions are "jumping" or whatever you want to call it in her mind.
If I remember correctly in episode 3 (maybe 2), Dolores immediately interacts with Jimmi after telling Meave the violent delights line. I used to be on the Jimmi is the MiB bandwagon, but I've jumped off over the last couple episodes. In the fourth episode, someone in the security team comments that Dolores has been heavily knocked off her loop, and in the next scene there's an android there trying to get her back to her storyline.
You guys are blowing my mind with these theories. I didn't even think there were two separate time lines until we saw El Lazo.
Dolores is the oldest figure in the park. If the timelines are thirty years apart there wouldn't be a) her executing the same daily loop or b) the same robots in timeline A 30 years later. It might still be separated by a time jump but 30 years would be far too big given the advances in tech, timeline changes, etc.
that seems extremely unlikely (how would that work? they clearly have the ability to wipe her memories and introduce new characters for her) and doesn't explain any of the other issues with the other androids that i mentioned
Yeah I just don't see it. It's a compelling theory, but doesn't seem to align with everything else we've seen.
my theory that i've seen on reddit as well is that she's actually quite the opposite from a simple robot, and she's actually the key to whatever happened 30 years ago (seems from everything we're seeing in pariah and with maeve, and have heard about arnold that it's some sort of robot revolt) and ford is keeping her in the same loop to figure out where arnold is and what exactly happened
