I’m very late to this topic, but the Werewolf Skin episode of Goosebumps really creeped me out. The scene where the kid is locked in his room and taking photos of his aunt and uncle shedding their skin was etched into my brain

My theater has showings with on screen captions for every new film. This might be the first film I’ll watch with those because his other films are sometimes hard to understand. Especially the VVitch

For better or worse, Eggers is always going to choose historical accuracy over what would make for the easiest/most accessible movie. That’s just what he’s interested in. I don’t think that’s ever going to change.

it's a combo of the quotes just sounding like an unbearable try-hard and then having listened to him on a few podcasts, which admittedly isn't the best medium, where he comes off extremely full of himself and like the interview is beneath him (it is, but cmon man, don't have to make it obvious) like i said, i like his movies. he just seems like a person i wouldn't want to get a beer with. he probably drinks mead or some shit anyways.
