Excited to have a good werewolf movie that isn’t An American Werewolf in London or Ginger Snaps. Or Silver Bullet, if we’re talking about awful-but-I-love-it. (No I do not really like The Howling, I think it is overrated.)
Liked the 2010 remake. Best looking werewolf we’ve ever had on film imo. Rick Baker at this best. The story was eh though. The 2025 film was my 2nd least favorite film of last year behind Minecraft so yeah
I liked the Del Toro one. Hopkins being evil, Del Toro telling a court of upper crust fucks that they're all gonna die? Entertainment, baby.
Yeah AAWIL is obviously the goat. I enjoyed the first Underworld. Obviously not a true werewolf movie. I also thought The Howling was overrated. Never seen GS or Silver Bullet I’ll check em out. Honestly used to be pretty scared of the Goosebumps werewolf eps but I’m sure they don’t hold up.
Silver Bullet and AAWIL were my favorite werewolf films growing up. Also the Werewolf of Fever Swamp and Werewolf skin episodes of goosebumps. Never seen the howling.
Hey, don’t shake your head at me!!! I’ve been meaning to watch The Wolf of Snow Hollow for years now.
Forgot about Van Helsing. Perfect example of a good bad movie. I didn't mind the CGI werewolf and it looks pretty cool tbh. That movie is always a great film to watch during spooky season.
I grew up loving Van Helsing and wish it held up better. Dog Soldiers freaked me out significantly as a kid (first exposure to gore, maybe?) but every time I revisit now, I like it, but don't love it. Might just be the military backdrop that loses me. Wolf Cop is awesome.
Dog Soldiers also freaked me out as a kid. I rented it from a library when I was like 10 or something. I think the way it was shot just made it creepier. Also those skinny, lanky, meth looking werewolves are nightmare fuel.
