The AV Club review (which gave it a D+) almost sounds like it has sympathy for all those involved for being in a movie that doesn't work.

this movie was so bad that it inspired me and the two friends I saw it with to all go home and immediately write the most detailed letterboxd reviews of our respective lives.

 

Just saw this...... it’s such a weird kind of terrible. Like you can feel the good intentions from all the actors...but everything is just a dumpster fire. And what a horrible waste of Janelle Monae

In a single day i watched the best film of the year (Minding the Gap) and the worst (this)

 

Minding the Gap was soooo good, might be my film of the year aswell.

 

I didn’t think this was as bad as many of the posters here did. Thought it was alright. Nothing special. The doll CGI scenes looked pretty awesome though.

 

Abysmal flop.

 

I am so ready to stop seeing trailers for this.

 

I got it in my top three ATM. So good. It lingers in my thoughts.

 

Not seen this but it surprises me that Zemeckis still gets work considering how many of his films post-2000 have failed at the box office or at least been a disappoint when the budget is taken into account. Beowulf, Allied and A Christmas Carol weren't what you call big hits plus he produced Mars Needs Moms which was a box office bomb to rival even Cutthroat Island.

 

Seems like for every flop he has, he has a hit next time around. Flight did really well. I think The Walk mostly broke even, but certainly didn’t make profit

 

So is Burt Wonderstone not Carell's worst film anymore? Lol

 

Evan Almighty

 

I did have to think about it but I'd sit through Evan before Wonderstone. I hated it so much lol

 

I thought Wonderstone was okay when I first saw it

 

Wonderstone was awful but better than Dinner For Shmucks

 

I was so mad walking out of Dinner For Schmucks. So much talent in a garbage movie.

 

It's funny that in this and Dinner For Schmucks he makes models

 

And he built a model replica of Noah’s ark in Evan Almighty

 

this is confirmed worse than all of those

 

Burt Wonderstone is great and I won’t stand for any slander against it.
