Twitter continues to run into lot's of issues. I suppose with over 80% of its staff now gone, what can be expected
The tweet exchange between Halli and Elon was an absolute facepalm moment. Twitter under Jacks control bought his very successful agency for a reason. Halli is one smart dude and he has always come across well when I've heard him on podcasts. Not to mention he was Iceland's person of the year in 2022!
i mean you’re the one convinced of his business genius so, I’d say way less than yours! i get laughs out of the dumbassery of tons of people who I otherwise don’t think about at all. Jordan Peterson is a great example of this actually. Forget that guy exists until I see another blurb or tweet about him crying over his daughters all meat diet or whatever
I don’t have to spend time looking for or thinking about this dumpster fire to rank up points in this thread. There is so much bad news about it seemingly every day that I couldn’t avoid it if I tried. Speaking of bad Twitter news:
I can't believe Twitter hasn't collapsed yet. The all knowing @Jason Tate said so. When are you dorks going to admit you were wrong?
lmfao it’s literally collapsed in every single metric available and daily basic shit doesn’t work … are you serious?
While not offline, it’s still bleeding cash. Twitter Blue is a failure (it could have never succeeded). Ad revenue, while it’s swung up from the 90% drop after he bought it, is still down 30-40%. The debt payments are still ballooning. It’s a bad business deal, regardless of how much ~faith~ you have in the guy.
The app now literally randomly serves people animal abuse videos. It’s bottom of the barrel garbage. Collapse is very much accurate if you look at where it was.
My mentions literally don't work anymore and haven't for months. (I'm not the only one.) This was this month: Twitter Briefly Pretended To Take A Stand Against Hate, But Then Elon Admitted It Was All A Mistake (Or A Marketing Campaign?) This was 4 weeks ago: Charlie Warzel: ‘Twitter Is a Far-Right Social Network’ This was 5 weeks ago: Platformer: ‘Inside Twitter’s Failed Space Launch’ This was 3 weeks ago: https://www.nytimes.com/2023/06/05/technology/twitter-ad-sales-musk.html Elon Musk recently said Twitter’s advertising business was on the upswing. “Almost all advertisers have come back,” he asserted, adding that the social media company could soon become profitable. But Twitter’s U.S. advertising revenue for the five weeks from April 1 to the first week of May was $88 million, down 59 percent from a year earlier, according to an internal presentation obtained by The New York Times. The company has regularly fallen short of its U.S. weekly sales projections, sometimes by as much as 30 percent, the document said.
