I knew this wasn’t gonna be a straightforward biopic story but I truly was not prepared for how unhinged the story was. A lot of fun, and absolutely worth watching the entire credits.
Oh, didn't see a thread just for this. That pool scene was so fun. Quinta Brunson stole the cameo's though.
This is solid, but I feel like the fact that it exists is funnier than most of the movie itself. Once Al becomes famous it starts to drag, as if they didn’t have much of an idea how to make those scenes funny and instead just relied on the idea that it’s Weird Al doing those scenes that makes it funny. Which *is* funny, but repetitive after a point and feels like a missed opportunity. Like, Madonna being kidnapped by Pablo Escobar and Al having to save her is a good escalation of that bit, and more of what the whole second half needed. Maybe they could have done something like with how Elvis became an honorary FBI agent, Al could have become an *actual* FBI/CIA agent. Just increasingly going from Al not just being the greatest pop star ever, but also the most important human in history lol
idk, I wanted to like this, but was just a tad too goofy and "weird" for me. Would have rathered a straight autobiography. The cameos were my favorite part.
As a kid who LOVED Weird Al as I kid and knew the setups for each song, I fricking loved this. Laughed out loud quite a few times.
I loved this. Watched it stoned and didn’t realize it was a parody at first and thought his father murdered a traveling salesman in cold blood when he was a kid in real life. Wild few seconds there
Definitely enjoyed this even if it was a little flat in the middle. The ‘hay boy’ callback had me in stitches
I didn’t even realize this was a parody (silly me) until he ends up writing his first “original” song “Eat It” which finally made me think “Wait a minute..was it really before..? No..”
