Teenage Victory Song is weirdly like one of those perpetual internal monologue songs for me where it’s always a little bit stuck in my head…the whole “you don’t know the way I feel/spinning here inside this wheel” part is such an earworm

I’d pre-order an LP of Weezer doing MU330 covers 7-8 months out of its release date.

 

I'd honestly have any of the official b-sides or the SS2K cuts over Crab (one of the worst Weezer songs?) or Knockdown Dragout (what if we were Green Day but worse?)

I mean shit Brightening Day should've been a single

 

I don't think Knockdown Dragout sounds anything like Green Day

Crab lyrics are whatever but I think it's a fine song

Love Knock Down Drag Out. I don’t think it sounds like Green Day that much either.

Cryin And Lonely does though

 

I think the Green Day connection comes from the song “Worry Rock” on Nimrod which has the phrase “knockdown drag out” in its lyrics. Rivers really likes that song and Weezer has covered it. So, I think it’s just sort of inspired by Green Day in a way. It doesn’t sound too much like them, or like Worry Rock.

Their tweet last week said they were “testing out the indie rock road trip setlist” at this show. If it’s literally anything close to this…omg

 

Ahh that does kind of make more sense then. Yeah if they're gonna go this hard with catering to the nerds (me), I might have to hit this tour up.
