Perfect Situation has long been my favorite Weezer song post Pinkerton, but I think California Kids has taken that place.
Liking this way more than I thought I would. I wasn't too big on the songs they released at first, but they're growing on me immensely. Easily their best record since Maladroit.
As someone who lives on and lives for the beach, I wish I could agree with the "I just want the summer to end" sentiment of "Endless Bummer" but still...awesome closer. Kind of bummed I played those first five singles to death already, but this is a really great album. Make that two in a row for Weezer now.
I want to hear the b-sides from this album already. Two strong releases back to back. Very pleased. Basically been listening to Weezer nonstop since Weds night.
I'm only halfway through so far, but I cannot believe how good this is. It's not their best, but boy is it nice to hear good Weezer music again.
This is the perfect summertime/beach record. As much as these guys churn out albums every year or two, it's great to hear a consistent record that definitely has heavy replay value. To me it's their finest effort since Green.
This is the first Weezer album in a while where there isn't one significantly "weaker" track. Hell yeah I'm happy.
Ok, so there's a Japanese bonus track for this album called "Prom Night." Def need to get my mitts on that.
The Japan bonus track is worse than Raditude... Very creepy song about Rivers falling in love with a 19 year old girl "She loves 5SOS cause they're so hot" And a line about the girls mom making her delete her Instagram
In the context of the album, I don't think "Thank God For Girls" or "Do You Wanna Get High?" (most Pinkerton-y track) really fit. I like them both, but they give off a different vibe than the rest.
"Do You Wanna Get High" and "L.A. Girlz" (as much as I love it) are definitely outliers, but I think "Thank God For Girls" fits right in with the album
