It’d be cool if it was still the 25th. This band doesn’t really need long roll outs anymore. Feels Like Summer came out quite a bit before Pacific Daydream and that album still sold like shit

 

I wonder if they could possibly really have a big hit any more. Or if people look at the artist when it says “Weezer” and just go “meh.”

 

I think they totally could still have rock hits, but mainstream radio? Uncertain

 

Feels Like Summer was #2 and Happy Hour was #9 on the billboard alternative charts

 

I'm not sure your average person on the street is aware that Weezer has put out albums since 'Beverly Hills.' You know how there are certain bands that people make fun of immediately and say 'lol what year is this?' whenever there's new news about them (A good example was the recent tour announcement for 311 and the Offspring)? That's what I think most folks' reaction to Weezer news is.

 

Eh, I disagree with this. Weezer is still pretty well respected, despite releasing some bad albums in the late 2000s but they have gained momentum with their last three releases and The White Album was nominated for a Grammy last year and many of the singles have done well plus they were on a ton of late night shows and continue to tour in large-cap venues.

It may be true that some people on the street don't still keep up with their newer releases, but they had such massive hits from the mid 90s to early 2000s that I don't think people make fun of them. I see that happening more with the 'emo' bands like TBS, Dashboard, The Used, All-American Rejects, etc.
