High as a Kite is in deed an all-timer. Shame that it exists on one of the banished records.

High as a Kite would have definitely been much better placed on OK Human.

I still stand by that Autumn has the sound Rivers described the Black Album to have but perfected

I tried to make a SZNZ Best Of a few months ago, and it's still not very good

If Autumn and Winter were combined it’d be in the top 5.

Even the worst songs on a Black or Raditude feel more like actual fleshed out songs with good, complete structures than the underbaked alternate reality Frankensteins that made up the SZNZ eps. It is such a weird but not in a fun way (for me) project that could only come from the mind of our favorite little weirdo.

My hot take is that Pacific Daydream is good and it makes a really pleasant 1-2 punch with the White album, my favorite era of the band post Maladroit.

Yeah if we’re combining records to make a good one, it should be Pacific Daydream and Black

Pacific Daydream’s sin is that it could easily have been great if it was pushed in either a White or OK Human direction instead of that Maroon 5-lite generic rockers-doing-pop sound it went for.

SZNZ is mostly quite good, I've always been really shocked at how disliked it is. There's a lot of good stuff on those EP's.

Both are almost perfect as is
If they kept making albums like that I’d be dissapointed but both are a nice detour from their usual sound

    I think I’m just a Weezer enjoyer

Can we all at least agree O Girlfriend is one of their best closers?

Getting a female feature is absolutely an attempt to go viral, like I Just Threw Out The Love of My Dreams and Go Away. Not sure if it was label intervention though, it smells like a Rivers scheme to me lol.

Rivers snuck into the studio while Crush security was asleep and had the lady from Wednesday lay down the vocals. Same thing he did when he snuck into the studio while Jake Sinclair was at a dentist appointment and put Thank God for Girls on the master tape.

They should have never given him a key to the studio.
