Make Believe in the upper half of their discography pretty easily. the hate at the time of release was extremely overblown (especially considering some of what we'd get later) and if you grew up with it like I did, that's just a fact of life
I agree that Steve’s takes on the songs are too harsh but it absolutely is not in the top half of their discography
Make Believe’s sin is being too neutered down and boring, watering down what they already had watered down with Green. I still leave it outside the good Weezer circle even though it was released before Rivers went full goof troop.
“My Best Friend” is better than “This Is Such A Pity”? That song can take its Shrek ass and get thrown in the swamp where it belongs.
