The album debuted in the top 10, something they haven't done since White, and the two initial singles both hit the top of the Alternative charts. Now I think with the hype of Hella Mega being the first big stadium tour since Covid, they're really trying to capitalize on this era. I haven't been this excited about Weezer in a long time, so I hope they have a big year!
This is my favorite Weezer album since........EWBAITE at minimum........maybe more than that. I know Weezer fans have a myriad of opinions but I'm surprised more don't love this. THIS is the WEEZER I love.
Yeah, this album is just so much fun. Definitely my favorite since White, and I might even like it more than that overall.
Still not a fan of a few songs on the back half, but I do really love the album and it goes down easy.
The Rivers song and three Rivers demos are nice enough and worth a single listen, but I couldn't get through the Kelsey Grammar ones haha
i saw this album get luke warm reviews? Im honestly shocked by that. This has been one of the best strings of singles weezer released in quite sometime. Hero, Beginning of the End, End of the Game are all A+ weezer songs. And they're all on this album, so to me that automatically makes this a great weezer album. Sprinkle in a few decent/good songs on the back end...end with a cute slow song at the end. That's a good weezer album.
New interview with Rivers. He mentions the possibility of playing some Pinkerton anniversary shows this year for its 25th anniversary (!!!), and talks about OK Human, Van Weezer, and SZNS among other things! Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo: “Like a lot of the other bands around that time, we were a little uncomfortable with the sound of our first album...” | Guitar World
Ok, so I listened to Pacific Daydream and the Black Album in a row yesterday and I think I might like the Black Album more?
Not a huge gap but I def like Black more pretty much solely off High As A Kite and I'm Just Being Honest
I almost burst out laughing at the end of the guitar solo Not because it was bad but just because it was so unexpected
Lol definitely a nice touch. Much like the Teal Album, I do kind wish this was less of a karaoke cover and more power-pop, but it's fun.
