i dont think the stars are going to align timing wise but a 'normal' concert experience at hella mega would be such a fun way to ring in the great reconvening
It's never too early to get the hype train going y'all lmao Weezer - SZNS (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, 2022) • forum.chorus.fm
Damn that chorus for I Need Some Of That sounds so great live! Yeah, they were definitely planning on playing a good amount of these songs for the tour. If the the tour unfortunately gets postponed again I really hope they just do an arena tour in Q1 2022. This is the most pumped I've been to see Weezer live in forever!
Suzy Shinn (the producer) did an ask me anything on IG earlier, and said that I've Thrown It All Away was her favorite song from the album. Interesting that it didnt make the final cut. Like who the heck thought She Needs Me was the better choice? Haha
my issue with Hero is that it massively outstays its welcome. I'd absolutely love it if it ended at 2:58.
Aloo Gobi is great. The rest of OK Human ended up falling flat for me. I thought the more subdued, sophisticated instrumentation had the opposite effect of revealing how cheesy, corny, and not sophisticated the band is. I thought it could have made for an interesting side EP, if it was 6-7 songs. I prefer when the band embraces their limitations, turns up the guitars, and has fun (without going too far off the deep end into Raditude/Black territory). Van Weezer doesn’t feel as solid as White/EWBAITE but it’s very fun and easy to let it play through without skipping. I dig it.
Ok Human and Van Weezer are both times I’ve felt Weezer made purposeful, concerted albums instead of a collection of songs since probably Green or Pinkerton.I mean this more as a singular listening experience than overall quality.
is there any musician on rivers level that so openly hates touring/playing live as he does lol always looks like he's physically in pain being on stage
they turned me around on some of the tracks I was just ok on, and the tracks they were cooler on I already liked anyway so on balance it made me like it more
I fucking love this except for She Needs Me and All the Good Ones (although that one is growing on me), wow. They put out two albums within like 4 months of each other that sound totally different that both make it into their top tier, holy shit. At the moment I can't decide if I like this or OKH better but that's not a bad problem to have lol, I really love both My wildcard pick for best song on the album is 1 More Hit. That fucking chorus, bridge and key change had me smiling so hard. I don't care if this is a crazy opinion, Rivers is one of the best hook writers of all time
I think the only song I LOVE on here is Beginning of the End, but I’ve been trying to place what the hook reminded me of and I’m pretty sure it’s You Never Give Me Your Money by the Beatles lol
Van Weezer is very consistent and it's hard to even find fault on any one song, I don't get why the bonus vinyl-only song isn't included because its clearly one of the best throwback songs to longtime fans. Am I alone in this but why does everyone insist upon saying "let's go" to everything that ever happens...its beyond annoying. I guess I'm just old man yelling at the sky.
This is fun. Glad y’all like it. I always get the feeling like they want to be ambitious conceptually but also aren’t trying hard to write good songs. “Blue Dream” is a good example.
