I don't know what that is. I just know there are awkward edits on the album version that struck me as bad.
A YouTube reviewer and he mentioned the fact that he like that version more about 10 times in the video.
I’m loving this thing. I agree that Hero isn’t the best choice as an opener, but in the third slot on Apple Music it works so well, Pat saving the snare for the last chorus is brilliant. Every chorus on the album is tight as hell, my favourite right now being All the Good Ones. And when the Crazy Train riff comes in in the outro of Blue Dream it actually feels profound (though I’ve no idea what the point is just yet). I’ve Thrown It All Away is a 10/10 song, the closest the band has come to sounding like Blue since Pinkerton imo, but if not a bonus track it’d be better saved for an entirely different album anyway I LOVE OK Human but I’m more excited to listen to Van Weezer rn
It should definitely start with the wild tapping on "The End of the Game" – but I understand why "Hero" is the first track.
I don’t understand: is Hero the first track or The End of the Game? Because on Apple Music it’s the latter.
OK Human is the best Weezer album, fight me. I’ve listened to it probably 100 times. I also... weirdly don’t hate Van Weezer. I thought it was going to be dumb. It is dumb, but in a cute wholesome way, and some of the songs are actually pretty good. I mean with how much Weezer we are getting, can’t really complain.
Didn't we just have this conversation like a page or two back? Lol I don't think it's SO bad, it's just pretty easily the worst song here, the superhero references are corny (and not in a fun Weezer way), feels plastic/hollow (to me), sounds like it was written for a movie soundtrack or inspirational junior high assemblies. All things considered, just a bizarre choice for an opening track
I have pretty much never listened to much Weezer but I checked this out today and OK Human for the first time. There was some stuff on here I enjoyed. But I surprisingly really really liked OK Human.
This is about to get the gym test from me, this is probably gonna be my main workout album for the summer haha
“Hero” reminds me of those FOB songs that seemed recorded specifically to be in movies and highlight reels. (ie. “Centuries”, “My Songs Know...”, “Champion”, “irresistible” etc) which just kind of annoys me. It’s like their “My House” or “Roar” or “Fight Song”.
Hero is an enjoyable song, but I find the pre-chorus rather jarring. It just sounds wrong to m. Chorus itself is HUGE though.
I’m a Weezer fan. I can do cheese. But the “hero” cheese just doesn’t land for me personally. It’s a fine song but I’m just not into it
almost every Weezer album has that "type" of song and Hero is probably the least offensive of them in recent memory haha
